Catania’s president says that Napoli are favorites for Vargas now.. wtf?

Simple. We don’t want to spend that much money for a player and (in true Roma form) asked for co-ownership, which they don’t want. Like I said before, we’ll make our mercato on everybody else’s leftovers and hope for the best.

I wouldn’t mind one big money signing and a few free players.. Mathieu, Crespo, Domizzi (small fee. Give them Esposito), and Huntelaar/Gomez/Fabiano. Something like that.
Vucinic can replace Mancini with Tonetto as a replacement.

uhm, i know, grain of salt, but what do we think of these sheva to roma rumors.
depending on the price, which i suspect will be far lower than say gomez’s, fabiano’s or the hunter’s price tag, will he rediscover his old form?
i still think he can score a shitload of goals, and he is a pure striker. despite his form/lack of playing time at chelski, he still dazzles on the ukranian national team. he definitely still has something left in the tank. he’s happier in italy and that will lift his form. not exactly sure how i fell about this, but i think a totti / sheva connection might be devasting.
if the price is right of course . . . thoughts?

If we can get Sheva for 10 million or so (I heard that number being touted around) I think he would be worth taking a gamble on.. God knows we’ve spent almost that much on enough flops like Mido or so on. I’d still prefer someone younger. If we can get Gilardino for the same price I’d take a gamble on him instead since he’s younger and has played more. I doubt Sheva would go to another Italian team. Find it hard to believe.

I’d rather have Gila, can we get Sheva on loan? I am not keen on paying anything for him frankly speaking.
Noone jumped on the Adriano comment… I think Inter may loan him to a Serie A team before taking him back fully just to see that he is really back to his pre breakdown. Why not us?

i’d prefer sheva to adriano. adri is talented, but a head case (and a drunk). just go after cassano for that matter.
i say we get both sheva and gila. there’s your depth. lock down vargas (fuck napoli), and we are done!
optimistic i know. whatever, it’s friday.

god i keep watching these videos and just lik Michael Corleone, “just when i thought i was out……they pull me back in”. Bring me this lineup and i think we can still take those fuckers.
Doni
Cicinho Mexes Juan Tonetto
DDR KA
Taddei Simone Mancini
TottiSub Vucinic for Taddei at the 50th and Giuly for either Simone or Mancini pending on who’s playing better at the 65th.
I think Mancini will be huge next wednesday, whenever all of Rome what him sold he comes up big and we love him again.

Look I love Gila as much as anyone in the world, but let’s get it right. If there is any way to get Shevchenko in a Roma shirt, there is no debate or even thought process.
Easy on his decline, which is worthless. His mind has always been 10 plays ahead of everyone and that’s more important than his age, coupled that he hasn’t been playing much he has saved legs and lungs.
Putting an artist of Sheva’s calibre, pedigree and uber class into the drek of EPL is like giving Caravaggio a sesame street colouring book.
He instantly become my #1 choice if available. Then we go young next season if necessary. Mirko already means we have a super talented young striker who is years away from his best.

i think sheva for 10mil is a worthy investment, and agreed cazzano, go young next year

What about barneta as replacement for mancini

Marca is reporting that “King Alberto” is interested in a move to Madrid.
Hopefully rubbish.

I’ll pass on Tuffardino any day of the week. What’d be next? Signing Dida to replace Doni? Even if he’s itching to go somewhere and play air violin, I’m just plain over him.
I think Cazzano’s Diaper makes a compelling case for Sheva. I’d like Boriello, but his score sheet this season shoots up his asking price, I’m sure. Sheva’s chomping at the bit to get out of that disgusting blue shirt, and although he’s contaminated with the touch of Abramovich, I’d sooner take him than Crespo any day of the week.

Yeah, hopefully rubbish. Dont want him to go!

Another argument for the slightly older than 12 predatory striker next year: Aside from Vucinic, there’s also Okaka - supposedly the “top prospect” which will take a bit to play out - and Claudio Della Penna, who has at least earned senior call ups. It may be best to take a player in his remaining prime rather than wait for another.
As far as Sheva himself goes, the important question for me is: What does his wife think?

Sulejmani (Heerenveen) and Huntelaar are good players Roma should look after.
As for as crespo, i like him but not at Roma, same for Gilardino.
Boriello is maybe a one-day fly, i dont know
Sheva would be awesome!

How legit are these sheva rumors? All I heard is him being linked to Milan for 10-15 mn.. And will he accept 2.5 mn euro salary? Will Roma really go over the cap for him?

His agent has announced it on radio … that Roma is absolutely a strong destination if not favorites. Look, obviously he wants Milan first, but if they have any pride they’d never take him back. He stood with the tifosi, people came to touch him and cried like the pope, women were fainting, MEN were fainting at San Siro.
Then he scores a gol first match for Chelse and french kissing the badge LOL!

i agree jasp. i’m leery over borriello because of the short-term success in one single season and that his pricetag may end up being overinflated based on this season alone. not to say that he is a bad option at the right price. I do think that he could be a perfect compliment to totti and do well alongside side him but i also think much of it would depend on what kind of tactical changes spal may have up his sleeve. i would love to see those two paired up in a 3-5-2 cause then we would have a good presence in the box for the short game up the middle as well as providing a target for our wingers to utilise.

Gabriella, because when Cassano is crazy, he plays well, and gets ejected. When Adriano is crazy (sempre), he doesn’t play well. That’s the problem.
There’s a shitload of people Roma should buy before they even consider taking Adriano, even on loan.

Boriello might become a Luca Toni and actually play well for a few years but chances are he could be another Gilardino, Lucarelli, Bianchi, Rigano, etc… you see what I’m getting at.
So if Ferrari is out for a month, is his last contribution to Roma an own goal? haha.. Lovely.

If we are looking for a new keeper and Livorno dig their heels into the ground on Amelia we should try to go after Carrizo. Supposedly doing really well in Argentina and racking up clean sheets.. Plus it will be a huge slap in the face to Lazio if we manage to pull it off.
I think we should get Amelia and loan out Curci.

Huntelaar out of Roma’s pricing range and Sulejmani? Let him first earn some more experience..

For goalie get Gomes from PSV. Loan Curci out. And doesn’t Carizzo got an agreement with Lazio or still problems?

Gomes is a monster! I have been watching PSV games due to Dzsudzsak and Gomes is very solid! Great goalkeeper! Good reflexes and good decision making. I havent seen him make 1 mistake that I can think of
