Chico, I still have the front page of the Corriere dello Sport from that 1994 derby… It was the first one not to finish 1-0 or 1-1 in many years, and it was memorable. There was a whole poem in dialect composed about it, I’ll see if I can find it at home.
Man, you guys are making it really hard to get anything done at work, as if I wasn’t pumped up for the game already!

Are there videos of some really hard challenges, some fights, some heated red cards, I am looking something to get my blood boiling. So far I have found some heat over on the lazio blog, they have the video of Totti kicking Mauri while he was down in 06. They called it childish, I call it HILARIOUS!

I didn’t want to post this on the Lazio site out of fear of being tasteless, but Gabri Sandi looks like a huge tool. The two finger wanna-be-gangster-badass along with the trucker hat leads me to believe that the cop knew what he was doing. Call me out if I’ve taken this too far, but while alive I woulda looked that kid in the face and laughed.

Also, why is La Magica referred to as Rioma on their site. Its consistent so it must be intentional, but whats the story behind it, anyone know?

that’s just it Robbie, Sandri and his “crew” knew exactly what they were doing, when they waited at the petrol station to ambush the juventini. Cops caught wind of it and the rest is history. Unfortunate, but totally avoidable. I’m going to miss the game tomorrow, but I don’t see us putting aside ss lazio unless we decide not to show up and play. DAJE I LUPI!

think it has the same significance as Giallorossi calling lazio “lazie” or “laziete.” unsure on the meaning though. . .

Just one difference: we call it lazie to make fun of their burini italian pronunciation, they call us rioma because of their burini italian pronunciation…
You can take the laziale out of the ciociaria, but can’t take the ciociaria out of the laziale…
(”ciociaria” = countryside area outside of Rome)

How pathetic can a defense be, to let Montella score a header! I mean, the guy is no Giuly, but he ain’t Toni either…

My now ex-Roman wife points out just what Ezio says: the burini are the rednecks of the Lazio region. Everyone in Rome makes fun of them the same way Americans make fun of people out Methlab-ia cooking Benadryl.
I’m taking a personal day tomorrow solely to watch the bumbling fascisti go down in flames.

Luckily with Italy not being on DST yet and the game being at night I can sneak out of the office at 3pm and make it just in time…

Lotito’s dream Rome derby
Tuesday 18 March, 2008
Lazio President Claudio Lotito hopes that “sport will be the winner” in the Rome derby tomorrow night. In fact, to encourage a more relaxed atmosphere the Curva Sud usually populated by Roma’s ultras will welcome the father of Gabriele Sandri and the son of Vincenzo Paparelli.
Sandri was the Lazio fan accidentally shot dead by police at a motorway service station in November, while a firework thrown by Roma fans in the derby in October 1979 killed Paparelli.
March 19 is also Father’s Day in Italy, so it is set to be an emotional moment for all in the Stadio Olimpico.

That video Bashar put up was hilarious. I went on the lazio offside and almost had seizure, crazy bastards the blue is way to bright. Then I came back here and every was restored. Forza Roma lets kick some ass, to bad that bald asshole not playing anymore, love seeing him sulking.
