Video of the Day: The Francesco
By: chris | April 10th, 2008It’s not often we still get high quality, original videos of Il Capitano, but this one’s quite nice. At least partly made by Ermes, who has to be at least the unofficial videographer for Roma at this point. From RomaTube.
Now pray for his return over the weekend.

It’s amazing how Mutu (not leaving) would change the whole level of our team. Those who don’t think he’s one of the 15-20 best and certainly most complete footballers in the world are, quite frankly, wrong.

The football world is changing because of the Article 17 buyout clause. We have to get Aquilani under contract because I believe we could lose him this summer for peanuts. Even the dreams of cashing in 20 million for Mancini may be out the window. He just has to pay the last year of his contract and he is free to go.

You read it in 10 different papers yesterday, Gab. I read it as “We won’t sell him until after the euros, when sheer appearances and countless flicks and heels will raise his price, no matter how Italia fare in the group.”

Mancini is worth 12-15 at best. Not a single euro more. He’s killed us, and his own value, this season. He’s doubtless been on Cassano’s old “cookies and cream” regime.

Can’t really find it. I think it was against Parma several years back. Given enough space he can slice and dice the entire half into his final third.
Not happening, though – he’s headed back to Milan.

Chris, while you dig the archives, this wasn’t bad.

2:00 here is one, not the one I was looking for. They don’t show the buildup, but that’s the idea. Put it on his foot and let him do his thing.

Chris.. The goal you might be looking for is against Barcelona in the Champions League in the 2-1 defeat to Barcelona at the Camp Nou. The first goal of the game.. That was a good one..

Nevermind.. You found it and i had the wrong goal in mind.. But that goal was really good for Sheva.. I’m not sure if it was over the defense but it was a good long pass.

there we go, as a replacement for pizzaro sign Lucho man… perfecto

Lucho a monster. I am monitoring Porto’s potential firesale, as per their potential scandal, match fixing, etc. Of couse so if every other club in Europe.
Chris, I know Gomez and Huntelaar remain your prefered ST targets, but who is your 3rd, 4th, 5th if (re: once) we are priced out of their market?

Regarding the Italian elections coming up.. I heard Veltroni is running against Berlusconi.. I’m not Italian so I don’t have any real opinions on Italy aside from sporting ones.. So I have 2 questions I’m curious about: Is Veltroni a Roma or Lazio fan? As a Roma fan, who should I be hoping wins?
I’m guessing the winner will have some effect in sporting terms such as cracking down on fan violence and maybe investment or labor laws or whatever.

Veltroni is a Juve fan!

Let’s sign Miguel Veloso to rotate with Aquilani and sell Pizzaman to anyone dumb enough to buy him.
Plus he (Veloso) can play CB.
Just bring.

Not sure yet, Cazz.
Something tells me Iaquinta might become a serious option if this Amauri biz is true, and I’d be in favor. Ditto for Gila if Sheva and Borriello go back to Milan. But I don’t really have a set list.
The other name I really think we might hear is Elmander. Even if Toulouse doesn’t go down (they’re mighty close), it’s highly unlikely he’s going to want to fight relegation again in a second rate league. His price has dropped quite a bit this year, but he’s still got loads of untapped potential.

My top picks who I want Roma to get:
1.Gomez
2.berbatov or drogba (they cant both go to milan if sheva and the rathorse ronaldinho are maybe going)3.Elmander
4.maybe baptistaPosted from

“Finally Matteo Ferrari, who had been expected to leave the club on a Bosman transfer is likely to accept a new three-year deal worth £1.4 million-a-season.”
WTF?? ARE THEY IDIOTS??

Sell Ferrari , wow there dum omg.

I don’t have a set list as any striker who can hit the back of the net is welcome.. I’d say it would go like this though:
1. Super Mario Gomez
2. Huntelaar
3. Mutu
4. Shevchenko
5. Di Natale (If Fabiano wasn’t insane he’d go here)(I’m ruling out players who had no real credible link to Roma aside from an honorable mention by Totti.. like Drogba and Vieri)

Ferrari’s contract is expiring so we can’t sell him unless we sign him.. Besides like I said.. 1.7 mil isn’t too bad for a backup.. I’m all for selling him to get a better option who won’t bitch and moan.

Lets be realistic, unless their is a big infusion of cash (soros), the transfer targets are limited……
So, my list is:
1. Mutu (not leaving, he says, but he is romanian and you know how they change their mind with money)
2. Quagliarrella (also says he is not leaving but…no CL).
3. Zapata (the udine defender is going to be huge, now is the time for his capture).
4. Barnetta (Leverkusen, a roman business partner)
5. Geovanni Dos Santos (he didnt renew his contract, pocket money transfer).
All of them are very versatile players…Posted from

Since when did reports without quotes from goal.com get even a shred of credibility? Two-ply.

I can only see Ferrari resigned if we nurse him back to sell him in January… in that way we would probably make some money on him. I dont think it is the case though, it would be risky as he could get injured again …

Ferrari being resigned would actually make sense if his offers dropped off the table. The guy’s fresh off knee surgery and in the game before his injury he took a big fat dump on the Sant’Elia and called it a performance. And Fiorentina, the supposed #1 target, has a cap of 1.5m.
I don’t see Milan or Juve going for him, even as a backup, and he may have realized (through his own doing) Roma is the best he’s going to get.
