Just like I think maldini is the best defender of all time, and Peruzzi one of the best goalkeepers, even if I didn’t wear Red and Yellow glasses, I would still think Totti is on of the best.
If not even his goal prowress, his vision and passing are the best in the world. And he fights for one shirt and ONE SHIRT ONLY.
C’e solo un capitanoooooooooo.

watching Tunisia Cameroon with some interesting players. Impressed by the Tunisian Ben Saada and Dos Santos. They both play in France as I understand.

SerieAtv is really good. Early in the season, the streams were slow, but now its like watching it on tv. Definitely worth every penny to watch any Serie A game you want.

KJ, what kind of internet connection are you using? I currently use a laptop that has a wireless card built in, and a cable modem with a wireless router. I bought the Palermo-Lazio game from SerieAtv and it was incredibly slow…I basically couldn’t even watch it. If you say it is faster now I might try it out this weekend for Palermo-Torino.

KJ, you’re clearly trying to exploit our Capitano sentiments by praising him first and then saying that we would be in Serie B without him. Totti did revitalize this team and we wouldn’t have bounced back at the turn of the millennium without him. However, it *has* happened and now we’re a club that would finish in top 4 because of players like DDR, Aqui, Amantino and Mexes. Surely, we don’t want to think about that yet and it’s almost certain that we’d struggle without Capitano, but predicting relegation is a bit hyperbolic. After all, we only had to thank Sensi for making this team perform *better* in the top-flight, instead of *bringing* it in the top-flight from the dungeons known as Serie C :-p .
Traian, Chris already does a helluva great job and writing regularly for such ambitious fans is an intimidating thing to do

Ok, This is kinda stupid, but one of my favorite things about Totti (aside from his killer strikes) is that he looks just like a roman soldier from one of the mosaics excavated from Pompeii. I wish I could remember which it was, but it is housed at the museum in Naples. I know, this doesnt really narrow it down - almost all of them are - but next time your in Naples, take a stroll through the museum. In my mind, that is who Totti is. I dont think he would mind the characterization.

Oh, and I subscribed to the SerieA.tv thing and have had no problem. It is MUCH better than trying to stream games for free and you can watch archived games. I am on the west coast and those 6am start times are a killer. I have had no speed issues or problems buffering. I watch them with my laptop (wireless) and a dsl connection.
I also have a subscription to the UEFA video service that lets you watch all the champions league games. A must if I want to see them as comcast dropped RAI in my area. If you have comcast as your internet service provider, I think you can get Serie A games for free from ESPN 360. I dont know if they archive there.

What is this talk of Aquilani saying he could see himself playing for Inter?!!? What the feck!? Apparently he did actually say this! What is he thinking…? Chris would not be happy…

I suppose he said that Inter has a dreamy midfield, mind you he stated lots of times that he wants to stay at Roma.

As always, media translated the words with a certain bias I think. He did state earlier that he’d sign a 10-year contract with Roma if he was given the choice.
Maybe the contract negotiations aren’t going that easy and he just hinted at the interest from other clubs. Media, quite expectedly, went frenzy because of him and Inter appearing in the same sentence (remember the completely ridiculous pie-graph from Gazzetta showing probable Aquilani destinations?).
Aquilani is not going anywhere, and I’m willing to bet anything I have on it.

Gabby, i saw that, amazing, JUVE on top of all teams! ironic, no. at least they noted that inter should be sitting 8 points (huge) lower on the table.
also, take pride giallorossi faithful, we weren’t deducted a single point. all earned!
FORZA ROMA!

Well.. The one thing I don’t like is that the media probably counted Totti’s first goal against Juve as an offside but counted the throw in they recieved as legal. The media keeps picking on that fraction 1 cm offside as another decision against them in the game but forget the penalty they got and the throw in near the end both of which should not have happened.

As for the Aquilani thing, I can’t believe he said that. Even if he did want a better contract, that kind of talk could get the media started back up on this issue (after he talked it down) and could upset the team’s atmosphere. How can he even THINK about going to Inter?

It was a mistranslation.

I wasn’t trying to smear Roma with my Totti comment. Yes, it is true that Im not a fan of Roma. (you all know that, but so what, this is a blog to talk football) But Totti is Roma, and vice versa. I think the club will descend when he retires. But nevertheless, I think he is one of the greatest footballers ever and his loyalty has been second to none. (except internationally, of course.)
