32 and counting.

I’ve got two in town for birthdays this weekend as well (no, not Francesco and Ilary), so things have been and will be light. Apologies.

Well if I remember correctly spal stated that he doesnt need Baptista before we finally signed him. I was never convinced and since I havent seen any Roma this season I cannot say that my mind has changed about him.

btw I think Riise will be just fine for us

Samson, that’s the funny thing about Chelsea. I’ve seen them under “the Selfish One,” Grant, and Scolari, and they do have the tendency to look absolutely bad sometimes. They dominate teams sometimes, but at other times, its just ugly, inconsistant, uninspired football that they play….a bunch of stars that cant eek out something impressive on a consistant manner.

Gabs- your right. I remember all of that dramma with Baptista. First there was the hype about him wanting to come here and all, and then Spal came out saying that he didn’t really need Baptista, since he really didn’t fit his “system.” Everything died down for a while, and then the rumors picked up again until he signed with us….. Weird!

chelsea look poor without deco, they just seem to revert to old habits, but when he plays he makes them tick, gets them playing a more fluid pass and move game. i hope him and essien are missing when we play them

Brad, ive always liked deco. He dangerous in every aspect of the game. His long shots, through balls, box penetration. That dude is world class.

He is the differance in that team right now, how long will he out for his injury? will he be back in time for the Roma game, im sure he will be.

Pauly- Chelsea are full of superstars. Its like a team of HUGE NAMES. I think that any coach would have trouble turning a team like that into a consistant force.

Mourinho in Italy has been rough on him. Pretty soon you will see a change in his attitude. Like a turtle, when things get rougt, it will always hide in its shell.

From the AS Roma blog on Kataweb, I understand bits and pieces, this might be a sensational explanation on our ‘crisis’, interesting nonetheless . . .

    Venerdì, 19 Settembre 2008
CLAMOROSO RETROSCENA AS ROMA: ecco il motivo della crisi giallorossa
Spalletti? Condizione fisica di Totti e compagni? Ecc. ecc.

    1. Don’t you think that the number of comments here has decreased a bit? Is it something like post-match trauma?

    2. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/27_September
Some more facts on Totti’s birthday.
27.09.1998- Web search engine Google is launched
(have you seen their main site today?)
27.09.1384- Birth of Cosimo de Medici
    27.09.1953- Birth of Claudio Gentile
    27.09.1972- Birth of Gwyneth Paltrow
    27.09.1984- Birth of Avril Lavigne
    27.09 – World Tourism Day

Maybe they should throw a birthday party together (not mentioning Cosimo de Medici*)? Jesus deserves a luxorious birthday… with lots of gifts: Golden Boot& sophisticated perfumes** (as substitutes of gold, myrrh and frankincense)…

    *unless they attract his ghost
** maybe Perfume the movie would be better?

I agree with Fadayn. Riise has been really not impressive on offense or defense.
