"Il Real Madrid si inserisce nella corsa al fantasista Samir Nasri (19), giovane stella dell'Olympique Marsiglia. Il club spagnolo sta pensando di acquistarlo per poi lasciarlo in prestito per una stagione proprio a Marsiglia; ci sarà tuttavia da battere la concorrenza di parecchi club europei, Inter e Arsenal su tutti."

Nasri is the one Real Madrid are after. They want to buy him and leave him in Marseille on a loan spell. Perfect move if you ask me. Might as well spend silly money now before he gets into Zidane territory and still allow him to play where he wants. I can't help but feeling like the club of the century is where he belongs. I bet Ribery loves this.

I don't think adding Nasri right now is the solution, but I really think he will be as good, if not better, than Ribery after next year. I don't expect him to move from OM for at least a year but I think Real sees him as Zidane's successor. Not Ribery.

I think that Nasri will eventually be worth more than Ribery is, but most clubs who want Ribery want a solution right now, whereas Nasri is a long term project. So even if RM try to get him (which would be stupid as they already have many youngsters (Robinho, Higuain, Gago, Marcelo, etc) that need experience, that adding Nasri would prevent him from getting enough game time whereas Ribery is world class now.

The only one that is getting me excited is Grosso. We don't need no stinkin oldies at Roma. I also think Montella would be a great fit at Napoli. Thanks for your great posts and keeping us informed, Chris!

Tonetto played as a LW most of his career. His pace is definitely suited to the position as well as his crosses. He usually makes his way up to the corner flag anyway.

I just think Grosso would shine is Rome, it's his hometown, and it would be relatively cheap. Grosso is an attacking left-back and is a perfect fit for the system, which is Spalletti's main goal. Not necessarily finding the most talented players, but finding the right player. I may be wrong, but I think Gross is the 'right' type of player.

I have to ask, what evidence have you seen shows that Tonetto can play that attacking role? Sure he's a great left back, there is no denying that. If this deal happens and Tonetto does not work out as a LW then you have failed to fill that void on the left side of the field. What I'm trying to get at is, wouldn't it be a safer bet to go after a natural LW, rather than take a gamble on a left back at reaching the end of his career?
