VUCINIC E’ TUTTO NOSTRO

By: chris | June 20th, 2008

Love that headline from il Romanista. Yes. Yes he is. Vucigol is 100% Roman to the tune of €12m. Let the legend continue.

so milan are the elite and roma punched above their weight. lol.

question for you, gf. since when does it make you any more ‘elite’ when you finish behind roma three consecutive seasons? and before you pull the points deduction card, let me assure you that even with full points last year you were below us. we can also get into the head-to-head over this period if you’d like.

roma punched above their weight in the cl? you mean finishing in the qf TWO consecutive years and beating lyon, real, man u in the process? that’s quite a wave of luck we must be riding.

i dont know but i think this description below seems to be more fitting when desribing an “elite” team rather than one that finishes 4th, 3rd and 5th in the last three seasons:

“Smart coach, great system, and a great team style and fit”

its funny but i would consider these traits to hold every bit as much value as having loads of money which seems to be your yardstick for measuring good teams. we dont have buckets of cash but we have other aspects that seem to make up for it….and put us ahead of milan for three consecutive seasons.

“He claims Ambrosini was their best player this year”

lol…well, ricci, that should also put some perspective on milan’s state of affairs currently as one of europe’s “elite teams”.

damn, Guerron signed with Getafe for 6 million a few weeks ago. His pace on the right wing is just downright scary. Physical too.

Loria is shorter than Mexes? How is he likened to Materazzi?

La Liga side Real Zaragoza are reported to be ready to accept an offer [for Milito] of “no more than €8 million”, according to Marca.

Forget Huntelaar.. 8 million for Diego Milito? That’s a steal.

Is anyone else tired of people referring to players by their initials and numbers? I have heard people say RQ7 for quaresma, AS10 for arshavin, FT10 for totti, AM30 for Mancini, and CR7 for Ronaldo in the last 15 minutes (not here), just stop it, stop it.

It was clever the first time when everyone referred to Ronaldo as R9 thanks to his shoes, but after 600 times, it needs to come to an end.

You got one of those wrong. CR7 = CR3.5.

    Or even CR1.75

I think someone out here suggested why did we sign Loria , same money cud be given to Ferrari.
Well , simple arguement from my end.

Players excel in Roma if they have the heart for it.
Ferrari didnt and Loria on the other hand has the urge and the passion and determination to succeed and my friend Roma wants players who are passionate abt the shirt so for me he is a decent backup.

So far we have got the backup , now come july aug we need to sign a BIG striker.

    let me explain Gianfanco.

You said in your comment that you are responding to evaldo’s question.
    He asked:
“vargas to fiorentina? how are they signing people instead of roma?”

    your reply:

“Evaldo, I want to try and answer your question, a comment I posted at the Milan page answering a different question.
“vargas to fiorentina? how are they signing people instead of roma?â€
If you want my honest opinion the team is a small fish in a big pond. Smart coach, great system, and a great team style and fit, but a step below the elite in my opinion. The fact that Roma have finished in the two spot behind Inter is a sad state affairs for Serie A. Roma has always wanted to be in the upper reaches with the likes of Milan and Juve but are always behind, and even the blindest of Roma fans can not deny the fact that you are fortunate to have loyal players, because you would never survive in the open transfer market against Europes top spending clubs, and in turn never compete on the elite level of the CL. Roma punched above their weight in the CL and when Juve and Milan get back to form and Mourinho’s Inter gets rolling, Roma better hope that the Viola and Samp go down a peg because UEFA Cup football will be your final resting place. Sorry, but you asked, and I told.”
    —————

it is clear for me that evaldo’s question was related to Fiorentina and Roma.
Your response was related to Milan, Juve, Inter and how Roma will never be the same league. You belittled our team on our blog.

Your argument on the Milan blog was about the Azzurri and had nothing to do with this blog as such although the tone of your comment here is the same as in that blog entry.

and let me add that KJ himself stated several times that he enjoys getting some of the members elevated so to speak. He also hates most of us here he stated that as well several times

If that is how you feel, if you are just here to get a kick out of it I wish you hack of a time!

You guys get mad when Gianfranco or other Milan supporters post on your page negative comments about Roma, yet you run over to the Milan page and post negative comments towards Milan players and former coaches…is being hypocritical part of being a Roma fan? Maybe his comments had nothing to do with what you were talking about, but I read a lot of the comments on both blogs and there is a lot of that going around.

Last time i checked the Roma and Milan midfield’s playing in the Euro had the same effect…getting bounced from the tourney. Viva Espana!

Gabriella, I by no means do it to get a rise. I have no underlying motitvation really, other than engaging in good footballing discussion. My repost of the past comment, was to put Roma into the hierarchy of Serie A an suggest that the Viola may be surpassing them on the market side of the game. I was trying to convey my opinion that for Roma to be an elite club, what was once the big 14 Euro Clubs (I think), Roma needs to be force both on the field and off. Instead of getting your thoughts on this, like I was hoping, I was called annoying, and that I am belittling. Sorry for attempting to spark a discussion that I find interesting, Roma’s ability to compete without the ability to spend big in the open market…

If you put it this way it is a comment tht communicates your opinion clearly and without any sense of derogatory and it is a good base for a sound argument. Unfortunately the first one had a very different tone to it and us, Roma fans react with that typical hot headiness and Roman pride even if we are not of Roman origin whatsoever.

I understand you are not like KJ and he has been behaving well recently I have to give him that.

I agree with Gabs.. that comment is fine.. but the first one was very derogatory and offensive.

But Roma have financial difficulties due to a lack of a sugar daddy.. But it doesn’t mean we can’t compete in the transfer market or we would not have gotten the likes of Mexes, Juan, Riise, Batistuta, Cassano, Cafu, Samuel, Cicinho, Perrotta, Mancini, etc…

Our lack of finances is offset by smart deals, a great youth system, good scouts, and an occasional splurge like the early 2000s and hopefully this year. It’s not luck..
