    @mac

Aquilani is always injured. He hasn’t played grand for 1 fulle season. I think i’m getting to the point that if he doesn’t soon sign a contract, he’s out. His family is filthy rich, and maybe, just MAYBE, he could get 500,000 EUR up North, but that shouldn’t mean anything, as he’s supposedly been offered the cap. 2,5 mio Euro net. If he wants toi give up Roma for a measly 500,000 that he doesn’t need (and that i don’t think he deserves right now), then we should sell him. 2,5 mill, that’s a lot for an injury-proned midfielder, with great potential, but who really hasn’t delivered imo.

Cassano is a great player, but TOXIC in the locker room, if he’s not the star. He’s the star at Samp, and thus shines. I’d never have him back.

    Here’s an idea.
Why is Guiseppe Rossi running around in a sub-top club, Villareal, in SPAIN, when he can run around at ROMA and produce the magic he’s so capeable of ? In comparison to Floccari (who everybody seems to love), he’s produces consistently, he’s 22, and superfast with the technical skills to match it. Floccari, i’m afraid, could be a one hit wonder, and i really think the price tag on the 2 would almost be identical. Even if Rossi is more expensive, he’s very young and has 5 years on Floccari.

    Just a few thoughts.

And again, how do you change the flag at the bottom at the post ?

PS. The bringing in of Albertos A’s rich family means not that he should sell himself short, but just additional information.

U serious about Sulejamani. I thought he was playing good. Of course Silva is wishful thinking. Rossi would cost a fair bit though, but I would love to see him at Roma. Whats this talk of Roma not qualifying for the CL. We will so don’t start getting all negative. Just because we have had a few injuries and have had some tough matches. After this we only have to play Milan, plus we get to play Genoa and Fira which will decide who goes through. Im confident we will get our players back by then. Yeah I’d like Rossi at Roma. NO to selling Aquilani. He is valuable no matter what. Look at his first two games before he got injured, he was fantastic and scored twice meaning there could be a future forward role for him, similar to Totti. We do need to sell the dead wood though, plus bring in some strong reinforcements. Plus bring Curci back and use him instead of Doni. Doni a keeper who can be fantastic or terrible. Im looking forward to the match. I’ll finally get to watch it at a decent time.

1.00 min onwards his goals for Italy and Villareal. I like Villareal, kinda a second team so I know a fair bit about him. A very good penalty taker, got pace.

SILVA, ROSSI truly are wishful thinking… So get them out of the picture although they would be a Cassano-like replacement which is what we need. Cassano would be a marvel but highly unlikely as well. Floccari and Quads, however, are possible, but I am not too fond of their services. If anyone from Ajax, I’d get Luis Suarez. All I know is that we need a creative midfielder which is not injury-prone and yes I am referring to an Aquilani replacement, and an attacker who can hold the ball well when passed to. I have been noticing this as off late and it really sad to watch the ball intercepted by a bad pass from Baptista or a dive from Menez of just a normal 1 on 1 tackle on Vuci which can be avoided. These all contribute to nothing in the end, and this is where I feel that the team really miss totti the most. He holds the ball really well when passed to him.
Personally I’d get Acquafresca for the striker position.
I read somewhere that Barcelona are after Juan. Sell him Loria and Panucci, lure in Santacroce and bring back Andreolli. If santacroce is too expensive, I am almost sure that Andrea Barzagli will be wanting out of Wolfsburg for an OK price. As for midfielders, there are too many to even name…

He’s not Jacob. I was wednesday at Ajax – Marseille and he was playing very poor. He been in that form since the start of the season, sure he be injured also but still. I expected more, as are all the Ajax fans.

Since some of you guys like my graphics, I’ll try and make some wallpapers. Just give me the size for it and which player(s) you would like on it, and I’ll give it a go.

A 1600×1200 would be great, but 1024×768 works too. I would prefer Vucinic,Mexes,De Rossi and Motta, if that’s convenient. TIA :)

And who gets the gimme draw? Man U! They drew freaking Porto! Makes me so mad! Arsenal drew Vialreall, if it had been us I would put money on us making the semi’s agaoins the yellow sub’s! Go figure Liverpool and Chelsea again! Barcelona and Bayern Munich should be an awesome match with Ribery and Messi showcasing their skills on either ends of the pitch.

That is sad that Roma did not beat Arsenal. We would have beaten Villa Real and got at least into a semi final!!!
Hopefully more luck next time. Roma must must get the 4th spot this year or they will be in crises

for those of you singing the praises of Lorik Cana, have you seen him play?

he is a total thug reared in the Albanian school of bone crunching tackles. he would be horrible for Roma.

and Ben Arfa better than Menez? not a chance. it would be a complete loss if we were to loose Menez for that overrated joker.

Klaus, I think you make some excellent points and I could actually see that Rossi might be one of our best chances at an option to ‘replace’ Totti (obviously Totti cannot be replaced).

He is very fast, has great dribbling skills, fast instincts, and a good head for orchestrating ball-movement. I haven’t seen enough of him to know how good his passing is, but at his young age, he could be easily groomed into assuming the Totti mantel.

Also, as much as I have been impressed by what I have seen of Floccari, I think you might be right about him as a one-hit wonder.

I saw some Ben Arfa action during Ajax-Marseille and he quite surprised me,yea he dribbles alot and maybe a bit selfish but at least he doesn’t drop every 3 seconds he has the frikkin ball! I’d go for a half year or one year loan and see what he’s made of. After all,we all expected some more of Menez when we buyed him in july, even tough he didn’t always got to play full games.

btw I play FIFA 09 and I actually bought Rossi with Roma. I kind of made an 11 all-stars italy talent squad:

    Fiorillo
    Motta Criscito Santacroce De Ceglie
    KA DDR Montolivo
    Giovinco Totti
    Rossi
    on bench there are Santon,Balotelli,Dessena…

    Jonas,
I agree whole-heartedly that Menez drops too much, but Ben Arfa, I believe, is far too high on himself. he is very selfish because he is a big ego-trip and I am not even sure if I can say Ben Arfa can pass well (not that Menez’ passing is great, though he has had some decent through-balls for assist) because I don’t know if the guy ever passes!

I think Menez really does need some schooling on taking knocks (otherwise a walker and a bottle of Calcium tablets), but I would rather see him improve under the right coaching than have Ben Arfa come in and be another ego-case, whose style of play, I frankly think, would not translate well into Serie A either.

Jacob I hope you’re kidding. First off, if we lose Panucci, then he leaves for free. Second, we paid more than half of Montys contract when he was at Sampdoria – why, because we couldn’t sell him and since we weren’t going to use him it was the cheaper alternative. His contract is also up this summer so he too will leave for nothing. Third, we cant sell Cicinho for the sheer fact that we need versatility and he is currently the only alternative to Taddei when it comes to right wingers. Fourth, if you know whjere we can get 10 million euros for Simone, I say you go make the call and make it happen because I can give you a couple of cheap and yonuger alternatives to the services of a man not getting younger. Fifth, Silva… ARE YOU KIDDING ME? We dont have the cap to suit him nor the bidding power to match Juve and or Barcelona. Sure there might come a Valencia firesale this usmmer but that doesnt mean that they sell to the first guys – on the contrary – that’ll jack up bidding prices! And finally, sixth point, we have no shot at signing Paloschi since he is owned my AC Milan… I just dont see them giving up their wunderkind to a rival club after a good spell for Parma.

Im sorry if I seem off beat in this, I just think we all need to calm down and stop playing fantasy mercato based on unrealistic numbers and acquisitions.

those bone crushing tackles are exactly why we need Cana, he would give opposing teams nightmares and get the rest of the defense amped up, and i say we need Rossi too, i dont know why i never thought of that, we could get him for as little as 8-10 million, he would be drooling to play in the Serie A again
