Damn, the World Cup qualifying games snuck up on me. Italy plays:
    3/28 Montenegro
    4/1 Ireland

Cagliari outplayed Genova with only 10 men. Genova did not deserve to win that … total BS call against Cossu.

not intentional necessarily, but another bad call affecting serie A

Genoa played well.. I thought they deserved to win given the chances they created.. But Cagliari were really good.. We can’t afford to slip up against Sampdoria..:(

Cagliari had the better chances with one less man. I wish they could have pulled off a tie. That ref was horrible.

Any chance Bruno’s boy comes to Roma? He’s pretty good, but he’s a totally different player from his father.

ok before i offend anyone let me tell you that mexes is definitely one of my favorite players… since totti is getting alittle older i was with thinking we might as well do the trade for gourcuff and 15 million for him…. we can use that 15 million and also bring up andreolli…
    Curci
    Motta Andreolli Juan Riise
    Gourcuff DDR AQUILANI Brighi
Mirko Totti Sick attacking line up with menez and baptista coming off the bench

Sneakers — he is a very yellow card prone player, so he would fit right in! ;-) I’m not sure he’s really Roma quality other than as a backup, (although I admit right upfront that I don’t watch Cagliari that much), but as we know to our chagrin he is skilled at free kicks. :(

Remember that awesome free kick he scored against us this year? He does not score a lot. He is 30 years old.

Yeah, and I can imagine 25 years from now we or other Roma fans thinking we should get Christian Totti. Hey, the kid could get his father’s genes and make us all happy, but he could also take after Ilary.

I don’t want to see Mexes traded for Gourcuff, altough the frenchie is very very talented, mexes has become a part of our core like DDR,Doni,Brighi and Totti.
I’d give them Loria,Panucci and Cassetti for Gourcuff ;)
then recall Andreolli and Itunes and keep Diamond, then we would have a good (and young) defense and another talented midfield.
    Doni (Artur/Curci)
    Motta Juan Mexes Riise (Cici/Andreol/Diamond/Itunes)
    Aquilani DDR Brighi (Piza/Perrotta/Taddei)
    Gourcuff Totti (Menez/Baptista)
Vuci (??? maybe Cerci or Okaka)

If that article on trash.com is accurate and we are missing all those players, we are screwed. That leaves us with only 12 players available for the game.

    Doni
    Panucci, Diamoutene, Riise, Tonetto
    Brighi, Felipe
    Vucinic, Baptista, Menez
    Montella

With Loria on the bench. This has got to be some sick joke.

    36 RICCARDO BROSCO
    37 ALESSANDRO CRESCENZI
38 MARCO D’ALESSANDRO will play. I’d like to see D’Alessandro come on or maybe Brosco get a start at CB.

Serously guys, Gourcoff? Do you not read the facts? Bordeaux has a 15m option on the guy, they decide his future, not Milan. And the suggestion the other day regarding Panucci being involved in some kind of swap deal? Milan can tie Panucci up now if they want to, he’s a free agent in the summer. Sometimes those reports are so crazy and stupid.

I think that kind of formation could work Yazan. Juan and Panucci are the kind of backs that could play that kind of outside back spot.

It would flip flop between a 5-3-2 and a 3-5-2 depending on the day though.

I love Motta’s placement within the montage… just as Jovanotti sings “the best thing that happened to me” :D

I really hope Roma take the option to buy him.

I am an arsenal fan and have been since 1994. but in the last few years coming to Rome often I have come to love AS Roma and have gone to see them as often as I could at the olimpico. I was also there on Wednesday night. I want to say that it was painful even for me to see totti so visibly distraught after the match. Even though I am not a true romanista and they were playing against my childhood team, I wanted them to reach the final in their own stadium.

It was a truly heroic effort, by the entire team, but perhaps nobody more than il capitano himself.
