Yes, Torrevecchia grounds are about to be sold to a Roman businessman.

Ok after this if Roma’s management doesn’t buy someone they are stupid. There are so many good players out there that could suit Roma so well. Klass Jan Huntlaar was a good choice but apparently too expensive (not for Real though). My first choice would be Owen. Not too old, cheap and still world class. He would provide that instinct for goal that Roma needs. Crespo would also be good as well as other young STs such as Gomis, Keirrison, Nilmar.

Hawk, lay off the skunk, my friend. Owen is like the Waterboy’s waterboy. While we’re at it, I can’t believe we didn’t go for Pennant. With him, Owen, Paul Konchesky, and Phil Neville we’d have so much squad depth.

Or perhaps Nicky Butt or Scott Parker as a vice-DDR?

And a straight swap of Aquilani for Robbie Savage?

hmm maro, i have to agree with you… we could probably get robbie keane for 7 or 8 million (i think thats what he cost liverpool PER GOAL)
what’s the sensi story you guys are talking about?

owen would be a dream come true but we cant afford him

A dream come true? You guys have some pretty bloody strange dreams. This one sounds worse than the cheese-grater one.

owen has crumbly biscuits for muscles – I suppose our ‘expert’ medical staff could divert their attention from injuring our good players and work on him for a while?

i’d refuse any englishman to join roma.

Nicky Butt wouldn’t be vice-DDR, DDR would be a vice-Butt(something wrong about that word).
We should think about getting some of the insane British players, though. Players like Savage and Barton. Use them to bully any opponent going too strong in on Totti, Menez etc. and they would of course also bully our medical staff.

Justin I’d insert an “ever” after your last word.

Owen / Butt………..come on. Keane would be all right but I doubt Pool would let him go because he still is of some use to them. Seriously, if Roma has at most 10 million for this transfer period without selling anyone, I would shoot for a really good CB and with whatever is left over get a young stiker who is creative and better than Montella and Okaka. We can’t leave our defence like it is. If one guy gets hurt in the middle we will see Gloria suiting up again. With the importance of all the games for the rest of the season we must have a rock solid defence with good backups. If we can’t afford someone really good up front who is much better than our current to back ups, I would not do it

for god sake owen, i believe his contract will be more expensive than Montella and he’s like Aquilani+Robben from what I know. Like everyone, I want the money to splash on a CB. We lost to many this season not because our forwards can’t score goals, instead we concede to many goals, how we suppose to fight back with 2-0 or 3-0 scorelines!? There’s only one way to reach the 4th spot with our situation right now and that is not losing anymore.

Not everyone, Kurdt. I’m not especially unhappy with our centre-back stocks. Panucci was one of Italy’s outstanding players at Euro 2008 as a CB and Loria can do a job, so long as he’s not being asked to mark midgets on motorcycles. Give the guy a chance in a settled side, with a proper defensive shape, up against a big target man and he’ll put in plenty of solid performances.

We DESPERATELY need another CB, not an over paid, injury prone striker.

Maro, Thank you for sticking up for our current CB’s. I am a glass half full guy, but if we have injuries, we may be looking at Gloria in the Cl games. I’m also glad you spoke up about Panucci. He is amazing. Before Brighi became our hero this season, our leader in goals and on the field was Panucci. He is the Chris Chelios of Football. I love him and he can play CB well. But I know it in my heart that we need someone better at CB to lock down the defence in case on of our beloved Croket or Tubbs can’t be there. Maybe I’m off my rocker, but is Panucci not a better RB than Cassetti or Cici???? I feel that getting someone now that is a CB that can become part of the team will be invaluable as our older defenders leave our great team,
As far as the striker debate…I say we spend our money on defence……
Maybe Cerci needs more playing time…. maybe he can come up big. Vucinic and Menez can’t play every game whie Totti is out. I hope our other forwards come up big in the near future. Here’s to Montella, Cerci and Okaka kicking ass in the New Year!!!!!! Merry Christmas you crazy Roma lovers!!!!Posted from
