And as much as we are all pissed about the teams current injury woes, i feel like we have to give Roma the benefit of the doubt here. I mean, i’m sure they must have went to the best specialists in this area they could find, and systematically got permission and instruction on how to progress with his rehab… its not like this is a high-school soccer team or anything… i would imagine they were as thorough and careful as they could be here…

Most people say it takes one year to be fully recovered from a torn ACL, and TWO years to get back to full motion, and most of all, to get past the mental barrier one builds up from fear of similar injury.
This is the time-table we should expect for him… and hopefully, this current setback is not nearly as grave as we are making it out to be

Car- 2 years. . . well then we better find a new playmaker for the meantime

I agree with Pauly on this.
Jesus is 31 and he’s got all his life before him. If this series of injuries continues, at 50 he won’t be able to walk on his own legs.
I’d prefer him to retire than to ruin his health completely…

BTW, Pauly, I sent an e-mail to the admin of offside.forums asking about starting this OFFTOPICS new forum. I wonder what the answer will be.
I don’t think they will allow us to start the Fight Club, though. On second thoughts, methinks that won’t work indeed.

fester-well if they allow it, we’ll probably be the ones causing all the high-jinks (which I love) and comical stuff there, so its all good!
If they don’t allow it, then we’ll continue to do what we’ve been doing here, which is not bad at all. The one thing someone else said (I think mimo, or maybe someone else), is that we all have Roma blood in common and its all Roma related….and we’ll continue to stone the haters, in the name of Roma!
Besides, no offense to Bashar, who Im sure will read this, but I think he is the only one complaining….if any one wants to argue against us, or complain, please step up!

just 31? that is on the downside of anyones career..
I told you guys him coming back too soon would be detrimental, but who could blame him considering the current state of the team.

Pauly, yes that was my opinion. Esp. during slack times with nothing going on. I just ignore stuff that I find uninteresting, and assume others do the same. For eg, this near-constant debate about “roma sucks” and “no, roma’s great” sounds relevant since we are talking about the team- but if the argument is repeated every day, it becomes irrelevant as well. So ignore stuff you dont wanna participate in and hang out here when you want to. Simple!

Fester- by the way, that is what I wanted to say about Totti’s health, which couldn’t come out, but you said better…..I’d hate to see the man on his 40’s or 50’s and barely able to walk. That’s so sad.
I truly truly hope Carangelo is right, and I hope this is all an over-exaggerated thing by us….somehow, I doubt whether what his body and his pain are telling him, is a normal thing.
However, I hope the Roman gods deliver this message to him: WE LOVE YOU TOTTI! PLEASE GET BETTER!

Now Cassetti injured.
Something serious going on. Brozzi and Spalletti time to change career.

Cool Mimo! Besides, isn’t this what makes this the Roma blog the best—all of the wit, zest, high-jinks, informational stuff, hypothetical stuff, high-minded stuff, the support-for-one another, including the dissing of one another, so GREAT?…..
Please check out the other blogs if you don’t believe me. No offense, but many of them are super dry, all uniform, and an exact copy of one another!
FORZA ROMA!

I tore my ACL Last year in a game, and it took me 5 1/2 months to recover, but even then i had to wear a brace. Plus i was 16, much easier for me to heal. I knew totti coming back was just too good to be true. He should really give it more time, like march

Going off on a tangent here- but to anyone who at least sometimes watches FFF on FSC monday nights. How annoying are they? They just throw statements out there with no pretence to being unbiased. Yesterday, a caller talked about the difference b/w the traditional italian teams vs the money-laundering english teams. He used Milan as an example to say that Gattuso and Ambro will die for the shirt (I agree), unlike players in the EPL. And the 2 pinheads from FFF said-”well, they were not dying for the shirt last year when they turned it in” and just laughed off the call. (There faces were in a word- scornful.) This is why I hate most of the brit footie “pundits”.

Football training is no rocket science, unlike they want us to think to justify their salaries. It’s about being fit to run for 90 minutes at various paces and keeping strong legs and abs in the gym.
All those injuries are bullshit, not even Zeman was damaging players like that.
I am sure if they trained by themselves in their own backyard things would be better.

Chico, it has to be Brozzi as the prime blame for all this!
However, think that part of the blame would have to go to Spalletti’s training regimen, since it could be super intense for the players. However, if the players are not fit, in shape, etc, then they must be blamed as well. Wouldn’t you say?I wouldn’t throw Spalletti under the bus for this. He’s been here for years, and I assume implementing the same regimen. The players know what to expect, don’t they?

mimo i saw that crap. I dont even call in anymore. They are on the EPL’ penis and they only talk about the MLS cause they work for an american broadcaster. Did u notice that they made backhanded comments about americans last night?
I thik they where talking about the Reading vs Watford phantom goal and someone sudgested that Reading sue somebody. Then that little bald gremlin said “yes sue them, its the american way”
Then they talked about technology in football and they also made a backhand comment about the US. Saying that american sports are the only ones that use tech in games (hockey, cricket, rugby… what an idiot)
They are quick to diss Italian football beacuse not long ago Italy was the undisputed “it” league. They just love to see that the EPL is mainstream so they are milking the cow until they get powder.
BTW
Im not sure if it was yesterday but they where dicussing the grup stage that Chelsea was in. Blad gremlin said “easy group for Chelsea, Deaux easy, Cluj easy, Roma… they cant play, so thats the group”. not even a litte respect.

Samson, yes the baldy is probably even worse than the other- I dont see what justifies him being so condescending towards other leagues like serie A. Do they think that people have lost their memories? (Recent memories, at that.)
I am fine with them milking it while it lasts, but to deride other countries and leagues is a bit much. They often use stereotypes to make their point as well. Last season they called the italian and spanish refs “crooked”, while the holier-than-thou english refs are all honest. The hypocrisy is just obnoxious.Posted from

btw, the baldy also called Maicon – Maccaown.

Pain from ACL tears never go away, particularly if you’re 31 when it happens. My brother tore both his ACLs when he was in college and takes a strong mg dosage of Ibuprofen daily to deal with the pain … Some days, the pain is just bad, I think as Totti gets used to it, he’ll get better at managing the pain and playing through it. That is just my perpetual optimistic view … sorry. Totti will lead the team to the CL Title!!! … hopefully.
