VotD: Maradona of the Balkans

By: chris | July 28th, 2008

Steaua 3 – Roma 1

Everybody ready to celebrate? Because last year the boys were absolutely pitiful in the preseason before notching a win in the SuperCoppa and starting off the year with five straight clean sheets. These games mean nothing aside from any injuries which may occur and even if they did, they were only 5 days fresh off beach volleyball and brimming cocktail glasses with two MIA Roma deities. No worries.

But there is one thing we can take from this game: Mirko Vucinic is decent. His free kick, the “1″ was filthy. How many quality free kick takers does this team have? Embarrassment of riches.

* – Mercato explosion later.

    after seeing that second video, i noticed Vucigol must have a great friendship with Panucci. They light up when they celebrate, thats good.

    I LOVED SEEING VUCI DRIVING THAT GOLF CAR AFTER THE COPPA ITALIA WIN. HOPEFULY HE WILL DO AND EVIL KENIVEL JUMP WITH IT AFTER WE WIN THE SCUDETTO LOL.

    yeah it’d be nice to see canadas national team jump on the kappa boat and ditch the adidas. maybe some style will help our team actually win a few games.

    dont count on it josh ;)

    playing!

    kappa = signiature la roma.

    We are taking Vuci gol for granted. While Inter go Muntari and Mancini we re inked Vuci for a long while. Not a bad transfer granted it will end up costing alot.

    Dude is gonna go nuts next year.

    Prade get us our 2 dark horse world class stars raga.

    Adesso!! e pronto!!

    I like the Kappa shirts of 10 years ago way better. The wolf silhouette was nice. Now? Kappa looks like they are run out of Comic Book Guy’s apartment in his parents’ basement. They sure BSed our kits this year.

    Kappa is one of the best sports clothing companies. I honestly think we’re best to stay with them. Lotto and Diadora make some nice stuff too, but who really wants Nike or Adidas?

    Kappa has made beautiful Italian kits for almost 10+ years now.

    Originality rules.

    Kappa is a great brand and I do respect them alot…I am just a little upset on how they half assed the new kits.

    I admit the Nike comment was a little drastic, and UL is right…originality rules.

    Mike, it made me hurl because I dont fancy running more than 2/3 miles a day. haha. Props to you though.

    They look exactly the same as last year, except for the piping under the arms and the coppa patch is on the shoulder…but I liked last years a lot, nice and clean.

    But lets worry about adding a few more names to the back of them, even if its Kim Cardaccio

    What the hell is Becalli doing spewing all this nonsense about Totti retiring at Steaua? Can’t Totti sue him for that?

    enough of the rumours already, lets make the “2 key” signings.

    the new name is afellay from eindhoven, why do they tease us? that kid i have seen on numerous occassions, he would be a great signing.

    but if we are going to sign someone from holland why not huntellar?

    indeed he wont be our goal scorer but either will baptista and malouda, get my drift.

    we havent even been linked with any real goal scorers.

    whey cant roma get one of quagilarella or huntellar.

    wouldnt quagliarella or huntelaar up front be deadly with the likes of totti, vucininc and baptista for example.

    imagine

    totti

    with vucinic on the left, quags on the right and baptista either in front of hime or behind him.

    As an owner of several (about 5 or 6) AS ROMA KAPPA jerseys, I have to say that they are absolutely the BEST and FLYEST looking jerseys….Its ITALIAN stuff guys…What the hell with that ordinary, played-out looking stuff from Nike? Adidas is fly, but KAPPA is ITALIAN quality!!!

    what about dare i say it Crespo on a free transfer, a good player and we still have money 4 two good transfers. if we can forgive him for playing with lazio all those years ago then again who didnt he play with, maybe i just want him because last time we signed an old argentine striker we won the league. doesnt mean it would happen again but who knows, oh and podolski for the left flank
