sorry, but no way on CR
all he is is a lot of step-overs.
there are over 100 better scorers - he does not have a great shot.
plus he is just a spoiled brat.
when he has the most expensive team in the world behind him he is ok, but he was nothing in e-2008.
everyone thinks he is so great because he is so young and because he is cute, but as far as age is concerned, Balotelli is already far better than he ever was and we are all going to see that this season

I dont really get why people are so down on C. Ronaldo, he is clearly the best player in the world, he doest flop nearly as much as he used to, he can play all over the field, and can clearly score...Im sure he has an ego, but what team wouldnt want him?

well ...

i won't translate the whole thing; it is basically some nice animation with a lot of hoo-haa.

the story begins in the future: this is the mess that Rome has become. the city of Rome, after the great earthquake, is torn apart, it's intestines exposed while it is overrun by the new imperial guards. Our hero, whose name i believe is Tiberio, along with his prolatariate cohorts, is left only with a hunger. but he will eat!
"we will win! we will do what we haven't for over 500 years." (i am just translating) the coach of his team takes him to meet the criminal mind who wants to revive the team of ancient Rome by taking dead bodies and resuscitating them using live DNA of superstar players. Tiberio is, evidently, a descendant of our beloved Francesco -"blood of my blood", and they seek his DNA for transference to create the ultimate neo-Roma player for the empire's invincible armada.

(not too sure of the plot line here because our hero shows up on the pitch with Totti there anyway.in any case...) they have synthesized Totti's DNA and Tiberio is pitted against him on the field where he is then schooled by neo-Totti, though not humiliated (only history is humiliated"), the hero dies only to realise he has been in a dream. the year is 2001 and here the story begins all over. in an empire dominated by football, this is where the government decides, in the olimpico, that a single man can change the future of football (i am guessing by the animation that this man is supposed to be Totti)... a future that will be to come in 1000 years.

it's a bit of a story in a blender and doesn't all totally make sense, but you get the idea.

i think we could really use a Mexican on the team.

and, yes, i agree about Spaletti and his ability to shape players. when you see someone have a good isolated season, it is an indicator of what they are capable of. whether they achieve it is based on the coach, the team with which they are playing, the league and other teams they play against, injuries, play time, etc. any of these variables can affect things, but at least you know the player has potential if he has exhibited it once and Spaletti and the Roma team can bring out the best.

it is only bad if the guy had one great season and 3 or 4 bad ones. then it is the sign of either one lucky period or something that has really gone wrong with the guy.

Pleasure Gio.

The thing is 2007 was a good year for him. After that he has struggled to get anywhere close to what he was in 2007. But then again under Spal a "Nobody" becomes a "Somebody" , so a lot depends on Spal. He has to bring out the best and along with that the dressing room has to be inspired by Jesus.
