Video of the Day: The Phenom
By: chris | May 20th, 2008I have absolutely no idea what, if any, part Stefano Okaka Chuka will play in next year’s Roman edition. The good money says he’ll go back out on loan, perhaps to a Serie A outfit this time, but he remains one of the people people on the list I’ve entitled “I Don’t Give A @#$% About Tactics, System Or Age, Get Him On The Pitch NOW, Dammit”. The list is mighty short, and he’s the only Roman product on there currently (Daniel Unal enamors me, though, for some odd reason – I think it’s because he’s Swiss). You want a big, technical, aerially-gifted striker? Here he is, Spal. Gift-wrapped and all.
Seriously. Kid’s going to be ridiculous.
I love it when loans end and there’s suddenly an influx of free, albeit mostly useless, talent. It’s like getting someone a shirt as a Christmas gift and you know they’ll love it, but the store was out of their size, so you get the 6′4 guy a small. Now they’ll have to wait to return it when their size actually comes in. And by then, they’ve got like 7 more shirts they like way more, so they just return it for store credit.

Iaquinta is not that good ,ordeal you have weird picks of players.

iaquinta has scored on crucial games comming off the bench and there is a reason he plays for the national team…
stefano, by the way I am not living in a dream where soros owns us… I don’t want to get disapointed… anyways I think soros might turn is into all that we hate…

Right now ,all romanisti hate rosella.Give Soros a break, what happens if the guy makes Roma great ,what will you say then.If you have sensi we dont have enough money for atleast one good player ,meaning no cups.

stefan, its like you live in a fantasy world…
well i don´t hate rosella man… and I think we can still be a very competitive team if we don’t sell the team… I don’t want to see huge egos come to our team but rather get younger players that are going to be stars and make their huge egos ourselves hahaha if you get what I mean…
besides, we already have our superstars in Mexes, De Rossi and Totti… maybe even Aquilani in a future, we don’t need anymore, we just need maybe one great winger and the rest need to be players that play for the team, that sacrifice themselves so that our superstars give their best on the field…
look at what happened to teams that have to many stars… Real Madrid, Barcelona… I don’t think soros would know anything of this…

What about Real Madrid, sure they lost to us but look at them there always 1st in spain.I just want whats best for the team,2 good strikers will make me happy.I see it this way,we dont get anyone this transfer market dont depend on Roma beating man utd or making it to cl final.

well, yeah congrats ste… I must admit thought that I got a bit giggly when Scholes broke his own nose BUAHAHAHAHA

stefan, don’t you remember the galacticos ordeal?

Ordeal, why are you talking in extremes about getting stars? The Galacticos era for Madrid was an extreme. Not every successful team with some big stars has to go that route. The right mix of stars and workers is what every team needs. There is no question that Roma needs to get a finished product in the front line.

Let’s be honest Ordeal, Roma ain’t winning shit if they bring in Iaquinta and that contract killer that plays LB for Napoli. I’m not saying they need to go out and buy Sammy Eto’o for 50m but c’mon. You guys are better off making a serious run for Marcelo Moreno, Rosina etc. Guys have more talent in their big toes than Iaquinta will ever have.

ricci that is who I want, but I do want Iaquinta, he is the type of industrial striker we need, one that fights a lot and has a big physiocal presence

SGM
I know it might be extreme, but I don´t want to see eto’os and those players in roma…
I want to see players like Rosina, iaquinta, vargas, Cana, Mavuda… those type of player, and at most one superstar with a good attitude…

I would certainly take Guiza over Iaquinta, but I would rather invest in two attacking mids and stick with Totti up top than have Guiza. If we are going to shift our formation for a guy, he better be better than sliced bread.
