Fester: I though about that with Maro. To mess with Maro is to play with fire. I often wonder why I do. I’m a fool for doing so, but I have to admit, I like danger, I always have.

But I believe that to question the Totti comment is reasonable.

Next Serie A-game is seven days away. Nice! The players should be able to recover from their injuries then!

At least some good news after having to watch my team 1B lose to Inter.
Anyone else already sick of the Jose Mourinho’s act?
Man that guy is an annoying little rat.
I hate where this campionato is heading. Looks like Roma will be chasing down Napoli for 4th. Hopefully one of the big three will start to fall apart and we can have CL next year with both Roma and Napoli!

Cassetti’s problem is his knee. Mexes has contrattura? Not sure what that is — muscle contraction? Stiff neck I guess.

I thought it was a great team effort today, including EVERYONE.

Mirko was dangerous as usual, Totti’s goal was classic Totti, Doni was great, Brighi was great, DDR was great, Riise didn’t suck, Taddei was not as bad as before, Mexes and Juan were pretty solid.

I thought Vucigol was very good and held possession when we needed it.

Pauly, of course it’s harsh to call Totti a lazy ass, though not, I think, on account of the injuries he’s had as you suggest. That would only in the end be an explanation for why he is a lazy ass. The point, really, is that Totti does almost all his work on the ball. He is a point of reference for everyone whenever we have the ball – a little as Pizarro is further down the pitch. And Totti often works his butt off to get into to positions to collect the ball. It is, for instance, so often Totti who comes to pick the ball up from a throw-in or who has to come to meet the ball and hold it up to allow the team to get out of defence. This was even more true of the 4-2-3-1, I think, where the sacrifices Totti made were stepping up and helping the team keep the ball when under considerable pressure.

I exaggerate with the lazy-ass comment only to make the point that Totti doesn’t do an awful lot of the dirty work off the ball when others have it. He doesn’t run the channels much, doesn’t do a lot of running to create space for others. As a result, you tend to notice all of the work he does do – because it almost always occurs close to the ball or with the result that he ends up being passed to. This is not quite the same for Vucinic, who has to do double the dirty work for this side so that Totti can do the more visible work, as it were. The point, really, is simply that when Totti pulls one of his miraculous back-heels out of the air or knocks a beautiful no-look pass in behind the defence right onto Perrotta’s or Tonetto’s foot, it’s easy to forget that there were two kinds of work involved in that moment of brilliance – that Totti’s magic relies on the timing of others’ runs too. I call him a lazy-ass only to draw attention to the way his quality is also dependent on the dirty work others do around him – just as their dirty work would be nothing but mindless running without Totti pulling his magic touches out of his godly arse to grace the fields of calcio with his golden glow.

Totti’s lazy ass is valuable :)

Unfortunately age, injuries and fitness haven’t helped his back side.

One can wonder if Cerci would be willing to sit as the back-up? Its complicated……

He already wasted 3 years on the Roma bench, why would you want him to continue to do so?

i think totti, vuci, and baptista all played great. its funny that when we were using the 4-2-3-1, it seemed that the midfielders were always changing positions being more free. Now, with the 4-3-1-2, the forwards are always switching positions. The Defense played amazing

totti is not a lazy ass, i am pretty sure for what he doesn’t do with his legs (cough injuries and age cough), he does with his mind, one can only imagine how much thinking he does during a game.

Totti is back, Roma are NOT.
They still rely on Totti too much. Imagine if Totti hadn’t played tonight… the outcome can be different.

Well, Totti being back means Roma is back wouldn’t you say?

Sure we rely on Totti too much, but we’re not alone in relying on our big star. If he has to pull the players up by the scruff of their necks I can live with it for now. We have desperately needed confidence and it’s nice to see things going well for the guys. I’m liking the Baptista Vuci Totti triad.

Wouldn’t you think that ROMA will not stop depending on Totti’s ass for next couple of years at least?

The team is completely different when he is there, or he is not.

Well, the fact that Curci said that he wants to come play for ROMA speaks volumes. From what we have heard, he bleeds this team and he would love to come back. So there’s your answer Alessio.

I know, the loyalty thing is something foreign for Juventus fans, so I hope you sort of understand……

That is one ugly jacket worn by Palermo’s coach. I’d look his name up but since he’ll probably be fired in a couple of weeks given the coach rotation there it’s not worth my time.
