maro and I don’t always see eye to eye, but I’d have to agree. Castelazzi is not going to get enough credit for his performance, and the Sampdoria D did well composing when they had to (a few shooting lanes closed down quickly). There were some sloppy moments, but altogether the formation worked out well and Sampdoria had little to no opportunity to take a point before the 10 men (which is a whole different subject).

Spal’s starting line up worked like a dream? You must be a comedian. If it wasn’t for a penalty call, and a late tap in by #10 (after Vuc was replaced) would you still be singin the same praise? In a word. No.

Not to mention some amazing saves by Doni when samp we’re down to 10. Interesting perspective though.

Agreed, Chris, agreed 100%. Vooch isn’t a left-winger, but Spags doesn’t ask him to interpret that role quite as a left-winger and he did loads of good stuff again tonight. Offensively, what we’re looking for is guys who can get beyond Totti in meaningful, creative ways and Vooch again did that for me tonight. I know some of you guys want to nail Spags at every opportunity and certainly I thought he might have taken a risk when Samp went down to 10, but his starting line-up today worked like a dream. Seriously, tactically he deserves 11 out of 10 for that team he sent out tonight, with Cassetti working his arse off and tucking in when required, getting up and down, up and down, and providing the licence for Vooch and Francesco to play. If Christmas gives Spags a fudgin clue I can’t wait to see what the clueless wonder comes up with in the new year.

if I’ve said it once I’ve said it a hundred bajillion times, there is no spamming here.

I think Vuci played very well today, and brings a different dynamic to the wing which you don’t normally see.

how can you say mancini is better then vuci?
did anyone else notice the teams overall play change dramatically when vuci came off…considering vuci is playing out of position and had a mildly off game today i think hes doing a fine job and more then capable of keeping the drive and work ethic alive.
the chemistry between totti and mancini really isnt wat it ever was…its time to move on mancini….

Yes Maro. I saw the game, and Vuc was off today. His first touches failed him throughout, a couple of shots he did have were right on goal at the goalkeeper. in the second half it got progressively worse. He was in receipt of a pass on the left wing but could not control his touches where the palone rolled out; his shot after that ballooned over the crossbar and then he was replaced by AM.
