The Aftermath
By: chris | February 27th, 2008Feel free to watch this video and draw your own conclusions. Hernan Crespo missed out on picking up his Oscar on Sunday, though I suppose there’s always next year. Roberto Rosetti was complete shit for much of the game – in both directions, don’t get me wrong – but the decisive decision was in Inter’s favor. Again. However, Roma should’ve closed this out. Vucinic seemed on pace to, but he was brought off in favor of Ludovic. Didn’t work.
What’s there to say that hasn’t been said before? Roma couldn’t finish, Inter got a call which never should have been, and there’s your season. Too frustrating to properly convey. Quite frankly, the refereeing in Serie A has ruined the entire campaign from all sides for me. I suppose many fans from most teams feel the same.
I’ll get a proper post up later Thurday when I’ve had more than 3 hours of sleep.
* – Chivu, once again, thanks for showing up in a big game, buddy.

Sterling,
Actually I was thinking the same thing like meet up in Roma for a match. We could make our own Curva. A bit far fetched I know for some of us, but a possibility.Posted from

I don’t care if Pizarro starts against Parma just not against Madrid.

Having grown up in Rome, I can tell you the general atmosphere is safer and more laid back then Jo’burg or London. Some neighborhoods are tougher than others, but this is true of all big cities. The fact that nearly all Romani are in love with the city (and visitors too) must tell us something…
That Italy has chronic structural, economic and social problems has been true for centuries, and in many ways has defined the mentality, irreverent outlook, and a genius for ‘creative’ survival. It is it’s great weakness, but paradoxically it’s great strenght.

totally agree with you there, lucian.
my entire family is roman (both sides) so i know what you mean by “creative survival”. i’ve had many a battle with some of my cousins there who made an art out of being ‘furbo’. the call me the ‘anglo’ cousin because i dont like to play those ‘creative’ games and actually call them on it.

Sure Julian. He knew him back when he was playing for FC Midtjylland… he was the star of the danish superligaen. Then he wen to Germany and after a hort spell at Werder and Mainz he’s actually doing quite well! He was great during The African Nations Cup as well. He is however IMO not Roma material and is also a definite headcase! The guy is best buds with Mido for christs sake… we all know how that went!

I hope to one day live in La Roma.

I wish Totti would take this game off, but I don’t think he will, both because of the pre-game celebration of passing Giacomino Losi’s appearances record and because he scores so much against Parma.

I only watched Zidan at the African Cup of Nations and he played well but he is not Roma quality, far from it.

lol Gab i just read that about Lippi too. I don’t think he’ll ever be attracted to coach Lazio though. They don’t have enough money for a guy of Lippi’s stature imo

i beg to differ. this is probably my extremely biased egyptian opinion but i think he is one of the best african players. The guy is a beast last season he had crazy record for mainz something like 14 goals in 15 games. This guy is nothing like mido, he actually has skill…
