Regular reader, 30, male, current Pittsburgh PA resident, married.
@ aristeia that’s cool that you read ancient greek. I got a minor in classics but my skills are a bit rusty by now.
Hoping something good comes out of this takeover bid.

aaaah Sneakers. i have family members that live in columbia/ellicott city. right by Timbers of Troy golf course.
one of my parental units has also taught at Elicott Mills Middle School for 30 years. so, i’m pretty familiar with HoCo.
as for DC United, i’m not the most passionate fan. i will start watching them now that the EU leagues are winding down. although when they just keep turning the ball over my patience wears thin…

too bad we lost to man united when we were in white, haha, good try tho, those were our 06/07 cl home kits. And besides i think they look pretty damn sweet. All the diadora kits that year were pretty sweet

Evaldo, No, I wasn’t joking, felt like a stupid question, I looked everywhere to find out, including Cafu’s entire football history. He is who I thought it was but could not prove it anywhere. I looked at pictures, stats etc. I decided it was better to risk feeling stupid than to keep looking. Thanks!

I’m looking forward what Chris will post for the preview. Just back from Milan blog, what a “classy” post to bid farewell to their classy captain.

You cant lose something you never had in the first place.
No wonder GF topped the list here for DIKIPEDIA entries.
Alessio just happened to overtake KJ and is nut hugging GF with every oppotunity he gets.Talk about class @ Offside. Bunch of teenie boopers

I never understood one thing.
Juve folks nut hug ADP and its all good.
Milan folks nut hug Maldini its all good.
Inter folks nut hug Zanetti and its all good.
When Roma folks nut hug Totti what happens to the nuthuggers from other teams. Why they get their panties in a knot ?Just beyond me. and How the fuck do u compare Maldini and Totti. 2 different players. A comparision between ADP and Totti is still understandable but Maldini vs Totti ?
How fukin lame is that.Posted from

i had to look it up too to make sure. no need to feel stupid, i wasn’t trying to be a smartass or anything. just had not read everything above that comment so i wasn’t sure if i missed something

(I’m posting this here because it gets bounced for spam at the Milan page)
Alessio, if Totti is insignificant, so is ADP, assuming you are using some sort of quantitative analysis to determine significance.
For all the criticisms Romanisti and Chris take on the offside, you all forget that his blog is by far the most popular on this site.
I guess then Alessio and GF, you are guys don’t realise how insignificant you all are.
Take a page out of his book (pun intended).
There’s a reason his posts are popular. I guarantee you that if he wrote the post for Maldini’s last game, even as a fan of Roma, it would’ve been ten times better than GF’s rubbish.
As a blogger, GF has failed miserably with this rubbish post. As a Maldini fan, I’m left wanting for more. Maybe we are lucky and Chris does one for the home page.

aristeia, my emphasis in grad school was Greek philosophy. Mostly Plato. I never did learn to read it though, only the major words that we all liked to argue about. I am jealous.

I went to Ellicott Mills, crazy.
Today at the DC united game, there were two guys walking past me, and they were wearing Roma jerseys. I was pretty awkward with how I approached communicating that I too was a Romanista. I didn’t even need help from alcohol to be awkward.
