maro, sorry to say but the home jersey of this season doesn’t cut it for me. don’t like those orange stripes. I got all jerseys from last year, got the one from 2000-2001 and had the blue one plus the orange/maroon one from the champ league. black and blue or white and black i’ll never wear in my life. oh and the black one from this year i don’t like either with the kappa logo all over the sleeves. too much. ordered the gk one.

We should really just start judging our mercato’s signings right now and forget all of their past games. You really can’t ask for new players to play well in a new system WHILE THE ORIGINAL PLAYERS WERE ALSO PLAYING LIKE CRAP. Now that there is actually a friendly environment around the team with some confidence, they should play more like themselves. That is the main reason why I like baptista. He played above average for a new signing who was also placed on a team that WAS playing like crap.

Pauly, take a look at Domenico Criscito. He’s your #2 option. For all the Zarate’s in the world, there’s a thousand who didn’t cut it.

chris, no doubt Menez will come ways and be a great player, but I was just commenting on now. I was happier with his signing than any of the others this mercato.

I didn’t say rookies couldn’t be good from the start but rather it can be a risk just inserting them into the lineup for the sake of playing time. You must earn the full 90 minutes and not just given to you b/c you are a talented 20 year old.

Cucs: Its a different game. In the NFL you have rookie players. just like NBA, that shine immediately, from LB’s to CB’s to DE’s to OL men, etc. Yes, the quarteback position is entirely different, but it has happened where rookies have excelled right off the bat.

That’s true Chris, very true. I would just like to see young players given more of a chance, and in the system that Spal has created, that will not happen. Its a slow grinding, hard to learn, you must take your time to adjust process……
