Hey, I would love to have 20million, when you have a half competent transfer director. We had 35mil or so, and look what happened, the only two transfers playing regularly were free transfers.

I do think it is a bit low for Roma though. 3 good transfers and you guys can challenge on both fronts. There's a little too much pessimism in the Roma camp though......United just got lucky when they beat you. I was very impressed by Roma this year, beating Madrid at home and away? That's something to write home about.

20 million... that's just fucking great! We're gonna blow half that on a new left back? Are they nuts??? People were talking about how good it was that we progressed past Real in the CL because it probably meant extra funds for the mercato - would we have had 15 million euros if we had dropped out there? And how about the fact that we didn't spend money this january to have more funds to buy class for in the summer... wow, a lot of class can be bought for 20 million!!! This sucks!

I dont think at all that a buyout would mean selling your soul. All clubs run things differently, there is no saying what effect Soros would have, but Roma will always be Roma there is no doubt of that in my mind.

I am kinda glad that Soros has¨"backed down" I want to see what the Sensi budget would be like...

I don't think we need a huge budget anyways to be competitive next year, all we need are two strikers, Vargas and a Central defender...

Mancini could be traded to juve for two bench players Iaquinta and Palladino... they would be our new striker... both Italian and great players, capable of being world class. Iaquinta is just the striker we need and Palladino can be a winger, striker...

Vargas for 10 mill would be great, if we keep antunes and Tonetto he can play as a LW in a 4-4-2 and Perrotta can fight him for that spot as well as the RW against Taddei and Giuly...

Lucio for 6 mill would be an amazing signing...

Vucinic for 6 mill

with some 20 mill we could build an amazing squad for next year and play a more solid and compact 4-4-2 a la juve like this at the start of the season, considering Totti would be injured

-------------Doni-----
Cicinho------Mexes--Juan------Tonetto
(Cassetti)(Panucci, Lucio, Andreolli)(Antunes)
Perrotta--De Rossi--Aquilani--Vargas
(Giuly) (Brighi, Pizarro) (Taddei, Cerci)
---------Iaquinta--Vucinic-----------
         (Palladino, Totti, Okaka)

I would LOVE to have this team, taking into consideration that Vucinic and Palladino can also play in the wings then we could make the formation much more offensive intruducing any of both in the wing, especially palladino that could be a regular winger once Totti recuperates. Leaving Totti and Iaquinta up front with Vucinic alternation starting spots with both of them...

we can all become real greedy very easily, but lest keep our feet on the ground and go after something like this, that could bring more success than this season once we have those strikers we lack!

I also look forward to bring back Cerci and Okaka and letting them fight for a spot in the team, I think they are ready and could surprise us next season...

Cerci on the wing and Okaka up front! I am really anxios to see that, i know they would work just fine!

also, look how far up Juve is with the team they have...

a suck ass defence with a crap midfield exept for the wingers...

Del Piero and Trezeguet with Nedved and Camoranesi have been carrying that team...

Totti, Iaquinta and our wingers could do the same with us, and we have a much better defence

daniele, it's a real concern of mine if roma gets taken over. roma wants silverware, rightfully so, after years of underachievement. but pouring money into the club to get that silverware might require selling your soul.

here was my comment, gabriella

In a dig at the EPL (and England), I might add that he is why I do not want massive foreign investment in Italy, a homegrown superstar player. We [Serie A] can compete without paying ridiculous transfer fees, and even if we couldn’t, I’d rather have idols like Alex than Champion’s League silverware. Some might point out ManUre have many homegrown players, but those days are long gone. There will never be a class of players like Giggs, Scholes, Neville, or Beckham in one English team. Look at some of their players today- Ronaldo, Anderson, Nani, and Hargreaves. I don’t like Berlusconi’s millions distorting the market, but I respect that there is a class of Milan players who are rossoneri to the core. [Pirlo, Gattuso, Ambrosini, Maldini, etc.]

And enjoy the fact that he [Del Piero] will be playing at Euro2008….and that Wayne Rooney, Frank Lampard, Stevie Gerrard, and Rio Ferdinand will not be.
