1. Mutu would have been horrible for Roma and it is a blessing in disguise that he did not make onto the roster. He is plodding, bratty, arrogant and his work ethic suffers because he thinks he is brilliant and is constantly deserving of penalty calls (did everyone not see his performance in E-2008?)
2. Silva would be very good, definitely better than Villa. He has pace, persistence(which unfortunately few of the other Roma wingers have)in following through on balls, speed and he is a very intelligent player. Additionally he is a player that can snap off quick shots with little necessary possession of the ball – another skill that Roma’s front players do not really possess. Oddly, though, he is in many ways like Esposito and I think Roma would be better served with a winger who could provide power and finesse.
3. To this end the best possible choice of players whom Roma have been considering would be Reyes. Along side Reyes, the other great candidate would be Guiza. These players have all of the above qualities and more. It would be understandably difficult to get both, but there are few who would make a better signing. The other two players who would fit incredibly well into the team would be either Di Natale or Quagiarella, or both. Both players Once again, however, it looks like it would be terribly difficult to pry either loose of Udinese. DiNatale has ecellent pace, a fantastic work ethic, excellent passing skill (which he actually makes use of), good shooting and a selflessness that is needed to get balls into the box. Quaglairella has amazing instinct, good poaching skills,a phenomenal foot, and possibly one of the most creative mids in the game. Any of these four players would bring a lot to the team; more than any other players I can think of. Rome really need to act and act now and they have to be willing to splurge a bit at this point otherwise they risk going nowhere.

Would love to hear what other fans think would be two good signing candidates for the team.

heath ledger was a way crazier joker, so he gets my vote.

Vin, we need some help because Aquilani is going to get hurt and Pizarro is going to piss the ball away in crucial areas of the field. It would be nice if we got anyone, I would even take readers off this blog as acquisitions now. We need something.
