Photojournalism In Phrance

By: chris | October 2nd, 2008

What story is this collection telling?

Roma beat Bordeaux with two key subplots:

i. Daniele De Rossi should be institutionalized.
ii. Luciano Spalletti is E.T. Proof is in the wrinkles.

    Italy is 3-1
England is 2.5 - 1.5 (Portsmouth being the last team)
    Germany is 4-1
Spain is 2-0 but two teams are all square on aggregate (Valencia + Depor)

    Thanks, Bashar :)

    Udinese, Milan, Sampdoria +
    Napoli -
3 clubs out of 4? That sounds great. The previous year was not-so-good for Italy in international football, maybe this one will be successful*?

*Yikes, it sounded as if I wished the best for Inter…

Fester- Hey next time, you have to tell everyone nice and clear when the new section begins, just use up from language like, “NEW SECTION; LETS GO THERE.”…..I was reading the comments that I missed when I went to class, nd its funny that Maro and UL were still arguing for an hour…..funny shit!

Fester- Its funny how you posted in the last section that you were happy with the new “Offtopics” section so, “we can keep an archieve of our files.” LOL!

Thats so funny because I think YOUR THE EXCEPTION, or the ONE who keeps archives, and files, and everything else relateable to spamming–at least in a hard core sense.

Who else keeps SPAM “archives” and “files” like Fester? Yor funny bro!

My mind is warped, Pauly. I live in probably the most contaminated region in Poland and thus my thoughts are contaminated.

But I’m not only the one Pole to have weird thoughts regarding Teletubbies. There are some people even weirder than me :D

    1. It’s posted in Italy section, but methinks we shall make it our second Forum Romanum.
    2. Will you post there sometimes? If I am the one who posts there, I’ll look like a maniac with split personality, talking to his other self.

Guys I know this is late and may have already been mentioned but I love the way La Bestia went over to the Roma supporters/Ultras pounding his hand on his chest after his second goal. Another foreign born Romanista in the making?

    Jonas,

    yes, Mexi is Legolas.

there was some good discussion about Aqui and his consistency. he has had some problems on and off, but many of these have been because of where he has been played.

he does not play well out on the wing and yet that is where he has been on occasion.

it made me think for a minute what a team without him might be like.

i have noticed that il Romanista publishes the line-up as 4-1-4-1, even though Chris breaks it down into 4-2-3-1

the 4-2-3-1 really helps stretch the team out so that the passing game can work fluidly. when it is more compact, such as a 4-1-4-1, the connexion between the back to middle to front is not as good and DeRossi becomes more of a gate-keeper than play-maker. we also loose him being able to move further up and take more of those long range shots.

but say, against a team like Bordeaux who was jamming up the midfield until we concentrated more men up front, we used a 4-4-2 where the front 4 were a mix of passers (Taddei & Perrotta) and dribblers (Vuci & Menez)

    like so….

    4-1-4-1

    Cici—Juan—Mexi—Pannuci
    ———-DeRoma———–
    Taddi–Menez–Perrotta–Vuci
    ——–the Beast———–

    or with Totti

    Cici—Juan—Mexi—Pannuci
    ———-DeRoma———–
    Taddi–Menez–the Beast–Vuci
    ———–Totti———-

we loose the passing game but get a team with a strong rear and strong front.

    any thoughts?

    Yeah.

I prefer to see Totti slotted behind the striker(s). It’s true that he can be effective in either spot, but I think that Roma need him feeding balls to VuciBeast.

Beast has shown a stron nose for goal. lets see him as the point man with Vucinic on the flank. Okaka or Menez in at the same time would result as a dirty pacy attack
