Official: Spalletti Out; Romanista In.

And now…Ranieri in:

Damn does this feel strange. Another sad day: first losing a born Roman, now an adopted Roman.
But this has been coming for a long, long time and I genuinely think for that same period this has been the best solution for both parties. We can never thanks Luciano enough for all he’s done, but it’s time for a fresh start.

But I mean, we’re not talking about the Prem as a whole, we’re talking about its best teams in relation to us. A declined Big 4 is still>>>Roma 2009… all four of them, and five if we include City, which we prolly should. It’s just not a fair comparison when Rosella either doesn’t have the money to spend or doesn’t use any of the cash she has vs. big money clubs that have already splashed mad credit.

A good lay-off from the game I believe would have helped Ranieri quiet a bit.
Motivation is not going to be a issue for him I believe – Being a romanista and managing your favorite team has all the ingredients for you to give your all and lets hope this new era under a Roman will bright.

If you start to feel depressed, remember one thing: at least Roma’s not Lazyo.

I think a lot of this wavering sentiment on this blog is due to a divide amongst Roma fans themselves. The pro-Sensi, anti-Sensi group and the pro-Spal, anti-Spal group, etc… Based on what news comes out, one group comes out in full force with their opinions and so on. I bet the same people who were attacking Spalletti last year aren’t the ones praising him now.
He did great things for the club but everyone seems to be in agreement that it was time for him to go. Things seemingly started going downhill when a divide arose between him and the management. No clue how that came about but I figure Rosella could have handled the communication between them much better.

Ranieri not only changes his players every game he changes his formations even more
Uh no, not really. He pretty much went with a 4-4-2 every goddamn game and there were players he just refused to rest. We were baffled why he didn’t tinker when certain players were clearly suffering from fatigue.

The stance Lazio took is the right one on principle I think, but they will regret not selling the players. They could have gotten a lot of money for them. Pandev will utilize FIFA Article 17 when possible and leave while Ledesma will likely do the same.
Similar to Ribery’s situation at Bayern except not as ugly. Bayern bringing in Robben might actually make Ribery happy if the game against Wolfsburg is anything to go by.. I doubt he will resign and will go for peanuts next summer.

I just remembered that Ranieri guided Parma out of relegation and left them to their doom the season after.. And he did quite will for Juve for that stretch in the middle. I’m actually very optimistic about his signing. He’ll have the international break, a game against Siena, and a Europa League game away to Basel to get settled. Then the tough run in Serie A continues.

Luciano Spalletti resigned as head coach of Roma on Tuesday and was immediately replaced by former Juventus boss Claudio Ranieri.
The press in Italy have speculated that club talisman Francesco Totti’s influence was partly responsible for Spalletti’s exit, but the captain had nothing but kind words for the departed coach.
“I thank Spalletti for what he did for Rome and what he’s done for my career,” he said, according to Goal.com Italia.
“I hope, and I have always said this in the past, that I can end my career as a player with him as my coach.”
Spalletti took the helm of the Giallorossi and constantly used Totti as a lone striker to good effect, with the World Cup winner scoring over 90 goals for the club in all competitions.
The 32-year-old announced he had singed a new five-year deal this past summer, after which point he is expected to retire.

all I know is one thing: if Roma wins 0-3 in Siena, most of us here will praise Ranieri in heaven and Spal will be forgotten

Ranieri will not tinker nearly as much with Roma as he did with Chelsea. Roma has a clear 15players of starting caliber and the rest r fillins. Dont think he tinkered much with Juve. im expecting to see
Sergio
Motta Juan Mexes Burdisso
Brighi DDR Perrotta
Menez
Totti VucinicAs long as Menez-Totti-Vucinic can start playing together consistently and developing together Roma’s offense is lethal. if Piz and a weak defense gets in there then its going to be a shoot out
Roma needs to get on a run. Serie A is not an easy league Siena a must win than a tough must win at home v Fior

for one, ranieri’s probably not as good as the rising coaches in Italy. yet, he’s got quite the experience. Yet, still, its quite hard to conceive that we’ve lost the imperial poobah, which, I think, is due to the clubs managerial problems. offload rosella! lets do a fundraiser to buy roma from rosella!
