True, earlier in the CL when Totti was out and Vuci was racking up the goals, I seem to recall one of the game announcers saying “Totti who?” It is true Totti is a great player and a touchstone for the team, but Vuci has shown he can win.

Hey, maybe Chistrian Ronaldo will run out of hair gel and not be able to play.

Gotta say not having Totti in for this match is heartbreaking.

Who knows… He can still recover.

Taddei has been god awful for the past 2 months.

I am still amazed he plays over Vuci and Espo as well.

Give someone else a chance.

Is he worth looking into Gabriella? He’s only 23 or 24, and from what I saw, he has more to offer offensively than Taddei while being pretty damn fast.

I don’t see it as a crisis that Totti misses the first match now that I have thought it through. We don’t absolutely need him like we used to. We will have more speed on the field against them, and while we do have a lot of rotation already, you can’t be sure who is playing what spot for us when Totti isn’t on the field because he has to be central.

Unfortunately Totti himself said that he hopes to recover in time for the return match, so I think it’s slim that he’ll play on tuesday, maybe not even the whole game against Genoa. And if he’s not at least 80%, then it’s probably better to see Vucinic instead, because we’d need 11 fit and focused men against ManU.

IF Totti plays, he MUST play alongside Vucigol (did you hear that, I said VuciGOL – that is the good Vuci!!!!). They must play either in a 4-4-2 (with Totti and VuciGOL up front and Mancini, DDR, KA and Taddei in the MF) or stick with the 4-2-3-1 but play VuciGOL as the 3quartista so he can make his runs in through the center while Mancini and Taddei do their things out wide. IF Totti doesn’t play, then the lineup becomes much more obvious.
