ManU v Roma 2nd Leg Preview: In Need Of A Miracle
By: chris | April 8th, 2008mir·a·cle [mir-uh-kuhl]
–noun
1. an effect or extraordinary event in the physical world that surpasses all known human or natural powers and is ascribed to a supernatural cause.
2. such an effect or event manifesting or considered as a work of God.
3. a wonder; marvel.
4. a wonderful or surpassing example of some quality
I’ve spent much of this year hammering out long previews, varying in length on the amount of research I feel like doing. Today is different. They need a miracle, and that’s all. There is nothing to say. Absolutely nothing.
Just pray, and this:
(The squad is in yesterday’s post. There will be a liveblog up before the game.)

OK OK let’s calm down…
UEFA.com is saying Panucci is starting over Cicinho

I dont understand why SAF underestimates us. It is not like we couldnt create any chances in Roma. We had plenty just couldnt finish and MU had 4 chances and took 2.
well we’ll see what happens.
I wanted KA starting instead of Pizarro but Lil David played well in the first match so we’ll seePosted from

WTf, Spal has started Pizarro and Taddei again, I hoped for Giuly and Aquilani, plus he could have thrown in both Cicinho and Tonetto

I think the plan with that line-up is to defend well hope for 1 goal, then when legs are tired, giuly, cicinho and tonnetto. Lets see. In Spalletti we trust!

I don’t buy those lineups.. I pray Ferguson shows us little respect and doesn’t play Ronaldo and Rooney. But if we don’t do well without those players on their team I’d be ashamed. More so than the 2-0 loss at home. I think at least one of them will start. (Ronaldo probably).
And Cassetti at left back.. Unless Panucci and Tonetto both got knocked out I don’t like it at all. I’d want Panucci and Cicinho to start.

well, well. and the plot thickens. I hope Roma can do serious damage in the first half, and its too late for the showboats rooney and ronaldo to come in and save them. this is really strange tht they think a 2 goal cushion is, well, so “cushiony”.

I think Giuly can work better in the second half, use his fresh little legs. Aqui still not at 100%, probably doesn’t have a whole game in him yet. Cicinho might get the start, Panucci has played 2 games in a row and Spal doesn’t seem to want certain players to play 3 in a row unless he has to, or there’s no replacement.

I hate this.. With Ronaldo and Rooney on the bench I have a feeling we could get something here which is making me nervous again.. It could be to give us a false sense of security, make us attack on all cylinders, making room at the back for Tevez to crush us.. I mean, he’s a world class player this guy.. Let’s not forget.

okay, this is random but wht does fergie feed Ronaldo? He seems to be among the fittest players around, hardly any injury trouble, seems to have playd all ManU games i can think of this season.

bashar, calm down. I’m sure Spal is smart enough to get his players prepare for anything. he must knw tht it wud be just life SAF to play mental games. he has a long history, remember?

…and lead us not into temptation (of entertaining the bandwagon), but deliver us from Old Trafford.
For thine is the king(alberto)dom, and the power (of crockett & tubbs), and the glory (of vucigol) now and for the next 90 minutes.
Amen.
