Luciano Spalletti knows about Turnover ?!?

By: Marco Stucazzo | March 1st, 2008

This will be short and sweet (ok maybe not sweet, but definitely short) seeing how the game starts in about 27 minutes as of…now.

daje-france.jpg

Roma start their crucial month of March with a game in Parma, If you don’t believe me ask Francesco! You’d think that after an emotionally charged encounter with Inter we’d have at least 6 days to get over it, But Serie A don’t play that way. They like to have their biggest games on Wednesdays, Rome derby included. Add that to the fact Roma’s travelling to Madrid in less than 4 days and you get… Turnover!?!?

What!? Spalletti knows what turnover is ?! (Hey Spal, Why not try a 4-4-1-1 while your at it ? Remember how Lippi used Totti as a supporting striker in Germany ? They went on to win the WC so maybe Lippi was onto something by playing Jesus in the same position he’d been playing for his whole life. Stick Vucinic up top and let him poach and hold the ball up !) Looks like Brighi and Esposito might make it into the line-up and OMR a.k.a The Panuchster a.k.a. 1940’s haircut will be moving to CB for this game. (If the Gazzetta isn’t lying) But don’t worry, there won’t be any Adrian Pit(z) sightings

This is why this game’s a dangerous one. Let’s remember Parma gave Inter a run for their money the last time they played. And if it wasn’t for bad refereeing (Yup!), The Parma Prosciutto Posse would have snatched a well deserved 3 points from that encounter. I have no idea why the Tardini outfit is hanging out with Lazio and Livorno at the bottom of the table. We need to watch out, for Parma’s a sleeping giant that we don’t want to wake up. They’ll be heading onto to the Olimpico’s pitch with confidence after coming down from a Midweek high after they beat Udinese 2 to Nil.

This is what Happened last time:

Squads :

Parma :
Bucci;
Coly, Falcone, M Rossi, P Castellini;
Dessena, Morrone, Cigarini, Pisanu;
Gasbarroni; Lucarelli
Note to David Pizarro : Luca Cigarini ; Watch and learn DP, watch and learn…

ROMA

Roma are without Teen heartthrob Philou Mexès. A dislocated shoulder means Marco (smart parents) Cassetti is out for about 20 days. Bad news for Marco, but that’s great news for Cicinho and his fans. I also do not think Spalletti will want to risk the easily contused legs of Juan a.k.a J-Smooth a.k.a. Chivu who?

Probable Starting Line-Up

Doni
CICINHO!, Panucci, Ferrari, Tonetto;
Brighi, Aquilani;
Esposito, Perrotta, Vucinic;
Totti

Who ?: Roma (2nd place, 52 points) v Parma (14th place, 25 points)
When ?: Saturday, 1st March 2008, kick-off 18:00
Where ?: Stadio Olimpico, Roma
Why? 1- Because Roberto Mancini’s an untalented tactician. 2- Because we can’t play Madrid just yet
Streams : Here and Here

Prediction : 3-1 Roma

Vucinic will get a brace and Cicinho will blast one in from afar. Lucarelli will head in a useless goal for the Parma Parmigiano/Prosciutto Posse.

    yea i agree zack, i never been a fan of tonetto. I think spal is hesitant to play both cici and itunes becoz there both pretty short and would leave us vulnerable on set pieces

    Good point Zack. I was impressed with Antunes play, although his passing needs more precision, he’s much more apt to get up & down on the left because of younger legs. Spalletti had one of his best game as a manager, he actually made subs that Made a Difference, kudos to Spal & I Lupi, let’s go to the bernabeu & get a merengue scalp.

    Things for sure r going to the wire in Serie B.
    I did see few Albinoleffe games and they reminded me of the Chievo few yrs ago who were impressing all out there.

    Bologna 59 pts
    Albinoleffe 58 pts
    Chievo 58 pts
    Lecce 56 pts
    Pisa 56 pts - Our laddie Cerci has scored 10 goals so far.

    Just saw the Totti goal. Anyone who makes anything out of the Aqui/Totti talk is decidedly an idiot. Given the level of their friendship (the hugs, the facial imitations), this was just a clarification from Aqui to his mentor. Heck, he was even being respectful.

    I hope Goal.com doesn’t spit any vitriol about our emperors based on this absolutely-nothing incident.

    Totti-Aquilani: bufera in campo

    source: http://controcampo.mediaset.it/articoli/articolo6405.shtml
    ——————-
    Okay, I’m sure the English media will be on to this in a flash, but here is an article describing the fact that Aquilani had a bad touch and Totti was furious and Aquilani responded. After Totti’s goal celebration Aquilani arrived to explain himself, but Totti continued to reprove him, and Aquilani departed angry.

    Then, of course, they go on to talk about Mancini and how he and Totti hadn’t gotten along. They also mention that he, like Aquilani, is one of the names on the calcio market.

    I took that from Roma Addict credit to Lupa..

    Im not saying its a big deal, but we doont need this going into Madrid.

    I am not saying Totti hates Aqui and Aqui hates Totti. Totti is Aqui’s mentor, but shit happens in a match, and I guess seeing the level is this match for Totti, he got pissed.

    But after Totti scored, it should have been done with,.

    Aqui is Romano per sempore, e De Rossi.

    So in turn, Punta Basta!

    I doubt the argument is a big deal. The argument that Terry was in before Chelsea lost that cup game is a big deal. The argument that SAF and Beckham were in was a big deal. This is probably nothing

    Yes be worry Aquilaziali, not Romanista! Rich boy from the burbs near formello. Who u think his familia supports? Exactly. He and Cassano will enjoy playing in Mancini’s system next year. Moratti prepared to give Aquilani “silly” wages.

    Cassano definitely won’t leave Samp. He loves it there because he’s easily the most talented player and they base their play around him. At Inter, he’ll be a big fish in a huge pond.

    And Aquilani is Roman through and through. Him and DDR will stay
