Ladies & Gents, Your New Left Back

Details later, still have no idea how I feel about this one. On one hand, what I’ve seen is hardly impressive. On the other, he’s a versatile player on the left with one overwhelming quality. This one:

dont think of these players as scraps or cast aways. i believe spaletti is lookin at players who are still at a decent age and have some ability but havent lived up to their potential lately meaning theyll come cheaper.
obviously he believes he’ll be able to wake up their sleeping skill and being TGIP he’ll get it done.
have faith

kewell would be a fantastic signing for free. agreed with chris …he was money until injuries.
in regards to the 08/09 kits ( and i might be an idiot for finally realizing/reading this) but apparently the kits they wore during the celebrations are next years glory. pretty much the same but with orange stiching. pretty much like the old 2002 kits but with black instead of orange.
and thats all ive got except this.
anyone else glad portugal got dumped by germany today?
because i sure am.
cheers

Jose Mourinho is set to make his first signing as Internazionale coach after the club agreed personal terms with Roma star Mancini. Inter director Marco Branca met with the Brazil winger’s agent Gilmar Veloz to finalise a four-year contract worth more than three million euros a year – more than double Mancini’s current salary at Roma.
just read that as well

Kewell would be a good player to use in a rotation, but never to replace Mancini, I hope the management knows this… well i know they do…

i think kewell will be a good signing, he wont have to play every game and will be a really good back up

kj. dont go there. theres no way in hell you have 50 million. and there is no way in hell you will be above 7th next year. whats real is real and you seem to be living in a fairytale.
la roma will battle for lo scudetto. you will battle for uefa if your lucky.
lets not get ahead of ourselves here.
you have been acting sane for a while lets keep it that way bello

For all who may not not Kewell is an Aussie, and he has been playing well i nthe qualifying for Aus in the world cup, but Aus have used him in the middle which doesnt work, in the Asian cup when he was used on the left he destroyed everyone.
Also he would have a British passport as he has been in England since he was 14 as he was picked up by Leeds youth scouts. Good buy on a free if is stays healthy could be the buy of the season, if he rediscovers him leeds form.

you wont battle for scudetto with those pitiful signings, bet that…you’re gonna have to step your game up with the “special one” here now

Well, Daniele, lets get facts straight…
Palermo has more money for the mercato. Look it up
Palermo hasnt finished below 6th until this year since promotion in 2004. Not too shabby for a “small Southern team”Posted from

Michael (or anyone else from Australia for that matter), how is the Australian press with transfer rumors like this? Are they a trustworthy source or is this akin to Gazzetta? His agent has refused to comment but I’ve seen it from no less than two sources now which appear to be major publications.

No news on ilromanista or romanews on Kewell. Chippen could run and was fast but did nothing.. I don’t seem to have much faith in Kewell. He’ll be like Esposito minus an assist and a few games.

Palermo has more money because they sold Amauri, Barzagli and Zaccardo.. It’s very hard to replace Amauri. The signings Palermo have had so far aren’t spectacular. You could judge Roma’s mercato all you want.. The thing is yours is done and ours hasn’t even started. Not a fair fight.

That said I’m not totally impressed with Riise, Kewell and Loria as much as I would be if we got Huntelaar, Di Natale or even Grosso.
And I agree that we seem to be going for premiership “scraps”.

Chris, the publication that this came from is one of the more trustworthy sources in Australia, normaly this newspaper does not report on any signings unless they will happen. In Sydney Kewell is a major name, it has been said in all the sources here in the Australian media, so with that many sources reporting it in Aus i tend to have a feeling it may happen. It all depends on what happens after the China game that Harry is playing in, P.S i hope he does play for Roma cause he went to the same high school as me.

Thanks Mike, that’s exactly what I thought.

Kewell one of the top 2-3 left wingers in the world when he’s healthy. He’s still got a few years left in him, if Roma can get him healthy that is a definite upgrade from Mancini. Kewell at Leeds was playing some of the best attacking football I’ve ever seen on that left side, but again that was like 7 years ago. If he regains that form, I see Roma making a serious, serious push for the Scudetto and CL.

Even with a bias towards Italian players, a healthy Kewell > a healthy Di Natale.

Harry Kewell made me watch Leeds in the late-90’s and early-00’s. I’m not sure there’s any higher praise than that.
