Chuck, Thanks and I don’t doubt you have similar skills to Pippo. He has the skills of a high schooler but he is probably the best in the world at being in the right place at the right time. Not a bad thing. Doesn’t make him any less of a scumbag though.

Wow, I didn’t realize I was starting to sound like Bill Simmons (the ladyfriend mentioned the same thing). I know he does the running diary but I haven’t read his stuff in about a year. I’ll try to switch it up. Sorry.

I’m sure the FIGC is calling Lippi nonstop right now. I say they can Donadoni yesterday, absolutely BEG Lippi just to take over for the Lithuania game and pray he recalls how special that WC was and agrees to coach for Euro’s.
I guarantee if Lippi comes back then Totti and Nesta haul ass back to the Azzurri.

And this whole thing about punishing Totti/Nesta for not playing is bullshit. They did their service, they deserve to call their shots. Platini is on the side of Domenech regarding the whole situation of calling up players who don’t want to play. French assholes. Though this whole club before country fad is becoming alarming: Totti, Nesta, Kaka, etc.

The highlight of Donadoni’s coaching resume is a 9th place finish with Livorno. Ninth. I know they weren’t good, but let’s call a spade a spade. He doesn’t have the trophy case of…well, he doesn’t even have a trophy case. The game today was horrendous and an embarrassment. But the true colors of a champion show after defeat, and let’s admit it, today was a defeat – no matter what the scoreline said. I’ll put hold on judging this game too much and see how they react against Lithuania (and if Donadoni puts out the same squad I’m going apeshit). Quags and De Rossi for Rocchi and Diana and let’s hope Zambrotta is healthy.

Oh yeah, Scotland did beat France, didn’t they? (But we lost to the Ukraine team France beat well today, and to Italy) … I guess all of Group B now has at least one game to be less than pleased about. Then again, Scotland did beat the Faroes 6-0 … hopefully we can at least better Italy’s showing against them on Wednesday.

Germany beat the Faroe Islands 2:1 as well in their Euro 2004 qualifying campaign. Which I don’t say as a sop to Italys pride but as a warning. Germany qualified for the tournament but were unpretentiously dumped from the competition after the first round and after being ridiculed by a Czech Republic B-Team.

Oh my. Seriously. That’s embarassing. Terrible. How could they NOT can the Don? I know this isn’t team number one and all, but they need to win that game by 5-10 goals.

I enjoyed reading your diary, even though I am not very familiar with the Italian team.

The sundial comment, and Pippo’s pippo really stand out as humorous. You were really hard on Pippo, which hurts me because I recently discovered that Pippo’s game and my game (way back in High School) are very similar.

Laugh if you will, but my team won our state championship, and Pippo today, got a brace.
