Roma v Bari

There’s a game in less than 12 hours. Pass the word.

Squad

Andreolli
Baptista
Bertagnoli
Brighi
Burdisso
Cassetti
Cerci
Cicinho
Doni
Faty
Guberti
Menez
Mexes
Motta
Okaka
Perrotta
Pizarro
Riise
Taddei
Totti
Vucinic

Assenti: Juan, De Rossi

XI

Julio Sergio
Motta, Mexes, Burdisso, Riise
Taddei, Brighi, Pizarro, Perrotta
Vucinic, Totti.

Roma News says it’s so.

I recommend night-long candle light vigils and as many rosaries as possible between now and game time. This is not a good idea.

Good squad kurdt, but yeah it cud be better. Dhaw I dont think we will get 10 mill for Bapshitsta. More likely 7-8 mill. I dont think we need Juan personally. Never fit, great player, but getting old and if we can get 16 mill for him might as well take it (and why not use that cash to buy a 12 mill Kjaer????)

Agreed. A year of playing like he has been is going to do Andreolli a world of good. Some of his performances have not been up to par, but he has been getting better. In a years time, I don’t think it would be outlandish to consider him a starter for us. Sell Juan, keep Burdisso and let’s bring in another young defender.

    Doni 7, Juan 15, Baptista 8, Taddei 4, Pizarro 5, Cassetti 3, Artur 1, Loria 1 = 44, hypothetically.

Candreva to strengthen the midfield/offer creativity.
    Curci, Rosi recalled.
    + One defender.

I know I’m dreaming but it could happen!

    Francesco,

Realistically 44mil – 30mil(Rosella Debt) – 4mil(player wages for last few months = 10 million in hand to spend.

If you want to take it a step ahead then :

    10 mil – 4.5mil(Burdisso) = 5.5 million.

    More realistic:
    44 mil – 60 mil (Rosella debt) – 20 mil (two months of wages) = – 36 mil

Still need to sell a couple of players!

    On a more serious note:
you forget one thing: To deduct wages. Those players earn roughly 18 mil every year and until they can leave on a free transfer, we have to pay them 44 mil in wages (per Gazzetta).

Rosi, Curci and Candreva would be paid 3 mil a season for 3.5 seasons=10.5 mil. That’s 33.5 mil saved on wages.

    Three things though:
    1) We would never get 44 mil for those players. 35 is more realistic.
    2) Getting rid of 7 players and only bringing in three + one defender. We need at least one or two more guys to provide squad depth.
    3) This is Roma. Never gonna happen.

I just found out that we pay 5.80million in wages per month.

    44mil – 30mil(Rosella) – 12mil(wages for 2 months) = 2 million.

2million + 2 mil made available by Rosella somehow(don’t ask how) = 4 mil to spend.

So Prade better get going and start dealing with inter right away for Burdisso because we will kinda find it hard to get him for 4.5million.

Prade : Maassimo I got 4million, Deal or No Deal ?
Massimo : If you give me Baptista for 12 million then we have a Deal.

Burdisso officially becomes a Roma player.

18 million ? How did you get that figure.

    Doni – 1.9
    Juan – 2.25
    Baptista – 2.25
    Taddei – 1.1
    Pizzaro – 1.6
    Artur – 0.35
    Loria – 0.35
    Add Esposito – 0.65

the above mentioned players in total earn 10.45million approx per year.

Those figures are definately after tax. Remember Cassetti too: 0.65 (and Esposito is 0.7).
The taxes in Italy are roughly 43 %, so divide with 0.57:
    19.5 mil

Post game Julian, trust me it was post game because i still remember it being like a week after that people were still bitching about Milan-Roma (on our board too). Don’t get me wrong, i wasn’t offended, it just confirmed a lot of the things that i had heard about you lot. Anyway im done here, enjoy your win and your captain’s comeback

I think we need to check Simone Perrotta’s contract. Maybe somewhere it says he gets a bonus per goal missed.

    nice lesson in accounting there.

Jed, Kurdt, how can you say Pizarro has good passing skills? the man launched a ball DIRECTLY to the opposition in our area the other day. not to mention about 5 other lost or misguided passes that went to Bari.

his obsession with the inaccurate long-ball is mystifying, especially when we field a team with individuals fully capable dribbling the ball up-field.
i mean, if it looked like a break-away opportunity for a counter with the other team still stranded in our half, then maybe … but he holds onto the ball so long that by the time he finally launches it, all 11 opposing players are comfortably back in their own half sipping margaritas in lounge chairs.

and calling him creative is like mistaking a retarded rottweiler for Leonardo DaVinci. he does show sparks sometimes, occasionally more than DeRossi, but i have seen creativity from Vuci, Brighi, Motta, and even Curci … ok, maybe not as much as Pizarro, but Pizarro’s cons so outweigh his pro’s.

Pizarro is getting worse. His short passing is generally good ,but long passing is atrocious. Freekicks r shit. One of his good traits is that he knows how to slow the tempo of the game. Though he does hold up the ball alot, he does help to stabilize the midfield when we r under threat. Arsenal game was a perfect example. First half we were being bombarded, Pizarro comes on and was able to control and help the mid. He shud stay but i mean we need another option such as Candreva. Now he was awesome on the weekend, and I hope we sell to get him.

Antonio, confirmed alot about us lot??? Wow does everyone have a vendetta against the Roma team and its fans. The guys that post the stupid dick head comments barely even come on this board (some not even roma fans), plus we get Lazio, and Palermo dickheads coming on here posting absolute crap for no reason. Im sure if u actually regularly read this board u wud recognize that we r a civilized bunch. If u don’t like it, dont come on here and comment. I’m fine with u saying stuff bout roma, whatever it is. If u dislike Totti, i don’t give a fuck. Just don’t complain wen shit gets said.

Without pizarro we have no midfield organization at all. It is very hard to explain but you can see it every time he doesn’t play. Against arsenal in the first leg last year he wasn’t introduced until the second half, when we actually were able to retain the ball for a few seconds.

De rossi is going through shit form right now.
Brighi has been the invisible man for quite some time now.
Perotta does a great job winning the ball and making runs, but if you have him with the ball at his feet for over 3 seconds, we get shit on.

Fact remains that no one on our team other than pizarro has the ability to simply keep possesion of the ball and dictate the flow of the game.

but you guys are all correct in saying that D’alessandro should be on our team… that makes sense, NOT!

A 0-0 or 1-1 draw will qualify Inter and a 2-2 will qualify Kazan. If I was Barcelona I would lose to Dynamo Kyiv by a single goal and hope that the other two draw and get them both knocked out. One less competitor for Barca later on.
