and again we ask the question…who is he/them/it?

I know another potential candidate – he has been planning to buy the team for YEARS and has the ambition to drive the team forward… here he is… http://roma.theoffside.com/chris/

We know who Fioranelli is. We have no idea who Volker Flick is, but they are both swiss. Why would it be a problem if Swiss people wanted to pay with money from a Swiss bank?

Is anyone else, in a topic separate from the sale, worried about the investigation into stock manipulation? will they prosecute for Rosella withholding information from shareholders last year? My guess is nothing will happen on either topic.

Mediobanca is there to broker the deal.. Rosella alone can’t make the decision that they are in charge. Unicredit probably put them in charge. With every merger and acquisition deal that goes on there is always one or two or five investment banks working together to broker the deal and no single party can choose someone convenient for them.

Rosella backing Totti up isn’t convenient or staged from her part.. It’s not gonna win her over with the Roma fans. We all know her and Totti are very close.. to the point where some of you make jokes about intimate relationships between the two. She supported him as a friend and as a fan of the club.

Irti is the one coming up with comments and outrageous accusations that he has not proved. He has no evidence or basis for linking these banks to criminals and Laziale and so on. He’s working for Fioranelli, not Rosella so any comments that come out of him are Fioranelli’s or his own. He says some shit to upset everyone and Fioranelli says the opposite and ends up looking like a saint.

There’s no need for this bullshit and drama.. Come up with the money and proof and that’s it. That’s all that’s necessary. What’s delaying it apart from the fact that he can’t supply evidence.

I want the club to be sold. I’m always going to support Rosella but the Sensi era needs to end and I would like new owners coming in. No need for a sheik or a Russian. Just a good owner who cares about the club and knows business and marketing. I just don’t want us to regret being taken over.

I’m not worried about this stock manipulation because I don’t see it as being a big deal. Every summer the price goes up and down depending on the takeover talk. It’s traded on the market and people have the right to buy and sell as they wish. Depending on the news of the day, the price shoots up or down depending on how optimistic people feel.

Look at Roma’s prices historically over a bunch of years and every summer there is takeover rumors the price peaks sharply and then drops at the end of the summer when nothing pans out.

I sure hope I’m not wrong. The last thing this club needs is shady dealings.

I am curious who this Volker Flick is. How come no word from him about anything.

Dammit. He doesn’t even have a wiki page.

I usually pray for more serious things but I’m seriously praying for the future of this club (off the field). I’m really getting worried.

I see what you’re saying, Bash, but the initial statement. After reading Fioranelli’s remarks, it sounds like this really is an idiot lawyer, and there isn’t much more to it. He is probably one of the ones working on the Roma deal. He has seen the club functioning first hand, and because he is such a pivotal member of the process, he hasn’t been fired. I can’t imagine, whether the sale happens or not, he will be working under Fioranelli much longer.

People calling for Irti to be sued…come on. Rizzoli didn’t sue Totti did he?

Apparently he is distantly related to the Flick family, but he isn’t part of the same money tap.

Muck Flick did bring up a lawyer named Volker Flick way back when. Is it possible he just doesn’t enjoy the spotlight?

You’re kind of contradicting yourself here Bashar.

“Just a good owner who cares about the club and knows business and marketing.”

You say this, and yet you support Rosella. A) She neither cares for the club, only her own ass and B) She knows no business and certainly no marketing. What has she done to deserve your support? Being the daughter of Franco?

And Fadayn, Chris can’t buy the club, he’s not Roman remember.

I will never forget that goal Montella scored against Fiorentina in the 2004-2005 season. One of the most unforgettable memories. We won 1-0 because of that. He went on to score a hat-trick against Messina in a 4-3 loss and 17 goals in like half a season (2 in the second half though). He was the only bright spot in a disastrous season. I’m going to miss him so much.

I want the NEW owner to care for the club and know business and marketing. Rosella cares about the club a lot but I’m in support of the takeover because we are lacking in global appeal, business acumen, etc…

Being pro-takeover and pro-Rosella are not mutually exclusive.

In fairness, Rosella was placed in the situation. I think she’s incompetent, but she did not put herself here. She is just here now.

There is a person named Volker Flick on facebook. I would post the link, but it might be to my profile because I found it when I was logged in, so I’m not posting it and getting my car stripped and burned by Dhaw and Fadayn ;)

All I have found is that every Flick known to man hates the media. That would explain why no one knows who he is, but it doesn’t explain why the hell an alleged Billionaire has never seen the light of day.

on actually roma realted issues, romanews gave their take on training today:

They said that the person in the best of shape/form was taddei by far, then followed by guberti who they said showed full confidence, cassetti and perrotta also did quite well.

On the other side though, they said vucinic was far and away the most out of shape and off form. Totti and mexes also suffered in terms of fitness.
