personally, i have always felt del piero was more of a figurehead then an actual quality player. one of those raul type players who have moments of brilliance yet are massive underachievers, more respected on the fact that their name is del piero rather then by their skill…just my opinion

Fucking DP drove me crazy all match long. He wouldn’t be so awful if he realized that he can no longer do what he used to. He tries to be the flashy DP of the past but he hasn’t been that player for years now.

It was obvious to anyone watching that playing De Rossi, Pirlo, and Ivan is a big mistake. De Rossi is a combination of the two and plays on the same part of the field. Everyone could see they were all playing right in front of the defense and Italy needed a more forward playing mid on the pitch. So Donadoni has a chance to change things up a bit with a sub and he puts Simone in for Camo. De Rossi just picked up a knock and he takes off the only mid with any flair. I love Simone but the guy has barely played this season. So not only does Donadoni not know who to take off but he also doesn’t have the proper players on the bench. I am sick of seeing DP on the National side. He has lost about twelve steps and in all honesty his skill level is brutal. I would have loved to have Rosina on the bench to add a little flair. Donadoni was coaching to save his job. Stick with the guys that won’t hurt you but won’t help either.

Italia is not my favorite national team, so yeah…that is why I was ok with Aquilani being left out. Of course, I was very proud last summer when Roma had DDR, Totti and Perrotta in the national team. Yeah, I know they develop a lot in those international matches…and yeah, I know it’s a huge recognition to be selected to represent your country…But I bet Roma organization was ok with Donadoni’s decision regarding Alberto…and I was ok, too.

And I’m fairly sure I just watched paint dry for 90mins.

The most exciting thing that happened during the game was Xabi Alonso’s red card in the background on FSC during the Iceland game and me realizing I had a Mary Lou’s coffee still in the fridge from this morning.
