where the hell are we going to get the money for Podolsky or Van Nisti?
the problem isn’t really striking. we have been scoring goals. the problem is, when we have lost, that we have conceded more goals. we need better reinforcements at the back.besides, i would have to assume that Podolski or Van Nisti would both be point replacements for Totti. if this is the case, i am really having some trouble imagining what TGIP envisions as the ideal formation because, if it is a 4-2-3-1, then what do we have Baptista for … unless he is an alternative for Aquilani.

i think roma should get rid of cicinho. i dont think he wants to be in rome anymore because he wants to be guaranteed a starting 11 spot every game. brazil is where he wants to be.
loria has been a disaster for roma this year, but i doubt roma will off load him in the winter transfer window. i say keep him till june, when we get andreolli back, we can get rid of loria.
i wouldnt mind fontana in rome… he would be a pretty good back up keeper, and he’ll be cheap to get.
i think roma would need another striker.. pazzini would be a good option.
roma also need a good young versatile defender who can play BOTH LB and RB. that should be enough signings this winter…
in: fontana, pazzini, and
out: cicinho, artur?Posted from

and a LB/RB*

Well, Gio, Milan does want to throw money at Roma for Mexes. Perhaps he will be sacrificed to bring in a striker.

I’d rather sell KA than Philou if Roma are so desperate for money. I don’t really care Roma get new players or not in winter. I only wish for Totti to be back as soon as possible.

We should buy Alanzinho. He plays currently in Norway for Stabaek. Great dribbling and vision for goal. Should be kinda cheap also..

Yeah, if we are so desperate for money we shoul sell Aquilani or Pizzaro, NOT Mexes! And furthermore, who is gonna replace him? Right now we have only Mexes, Juan and Panucci as CB. Of course I don’t count Gloria as a reliable CB. The Only man who can replace Mexes is Samuel, but I don’t think that is gonna happen.

I finally agree with Goal.com: http://www.goal.com/en/news/1717/editorial/2008/12/29/1032798/roma-all-time-best-xi

Goal.com also said not expect great things this January, which I think is right, w/ more and more guys getting back to form, we really only need some depth in the back 4…so I hope at the very least they do that.

I know it’s only Tuesday 30th, but I wish you a Happy New Year. Have a good time, at least better than S.Gerrard’s. I hope this year will be a better year for our dear Roma

Peci, I agree. Pizzaro and KA can bring in more money, and won’t leave a huge hole in the team. They’ve been out pretty much all this season anyway, or even much more for KA.

As much as i like ka i think that he will give us the most money without truly affecting our team. Mexes is the future of our defence and he is way more valuable to up than ka.

Selling KA this window? Management is gonna have a problem attempting to jack up the price for an injured player. If KA ever leaves, it would have to be in the summer. At least i hope thats the case.

I mean, can we really turn down 16 million plus Jankulovski, Bonera, and Gourcuff? Yes, Mexes is damn good, but he also raises every Romanista’s blood pressure every time he flies in for a challenge. I don’t think we would miss him that much if Bonera and Jankulovski could turn in solid work, our problems were when we weren’t sure who was playing CB.

I see Mexes as more of a fan darling than a cornerstone of the future. Juan is a better player when healthy, he is just as solid without the inevitable yellow card.

samson, ka i was implying that we should try and hang on to mexes until the summer, and if we still need money by then, we should sell aquilani. my bad on not saying that.
zack della, i believe it was 16 plus jankulovski, bonera, OR gourcuff. Only the gourcuff one sounds somewhat appealing. Also, mexes is much younger than Juan, and Juan has already said that he wants to go back Brazil once his contract is up, and he will NOT resign.Posted from

Where you’d read that jed? What I know is that he wants to extend.
I think Cici is out since Roma is looking at Miguel from Valencia. To replace Loria they want Juanito from Betis. Only problem with that he is 32.

Mexes is massive…no sale.

i want ruud like i want an enema, badly…(kidding. why the hell would we sign an injury prone senior citizen like him)
Posted from

Evaldo… Ruud still has gas left in his tank. I mean have you seen his scoring rates? And yes he is injured now but he hasnt been THAT injury prone throughout his career. Besides, we all know the management has a hardon for injured players lol. Yes there are better guys, however give me a Ruud over a Hernan ANYDAY!

yeah he is like a goal every other game (atleast) but doesn’t he have 3 serious knee injuries? that scares me. espescially with our medical staff.
i agree ruud over hernan

i know we might be able to get more for Mexes, Johonna, but as inconsistent as he can occasionally be, he is really one of our most solid players in the back and a die-hard Romanista. these are the players that you really shuold not let go. plus, even if we got a lot for him, we would not be able to find anyone else to replace him for approximately the same amount.
Pizarro is superfluous and i would rather see him go than Aqui at this point. and i think Samson is really right about considering selling him on injury.
