Be Cool. Be Victorious.

By: chris | August 26th, 2009

Will start the liveblog quite early tomorrow as the “preview”. For now: stuffs I can copy from RomaNews.

Convocati.

1 ANTUNES
2 ARTUR
3 BERTAGNOLI
4 CASSETTI
5 CERCI
6 DE ROSSI
7 ESPOSITO
8 FATY
9 FRASCA
10 GRECO
11 GUBERTI
12 JUAN
13 MENEZ
14 MEXES
15 MOTTA
16 PIZARRO
17 RIISE
18 TADDEI
19 TONETTO
20 TOTTI
21 VUCINIC

Indisponibili: Baptista*, Perrotta, Doni, Cicinho, Okaka, Brighi, Andreolli.

* – Hurt. And by hurt I mean being held out of the squad as not to remove European eligibility for another club…while being slightly less than 100%.

** – Burdisso isn’t yet eligible because squad lists go by rounds and, as we’re in the middle of a qualifying round, he has to wait ’til the next one (groups…Buddha willing).

Likely XI

Artur
Cassetti, Mexes, Juan, Riise
De Rossi, Pizarro
Taddei, Menez, Cerci
Totti.

    BREAKING NEWS

ROMA HASNT SIGNED A STRIKER THE LAST 3 YEARS, ALTHOUGH THEY NEED ONE BADLY.

    REASON BEING

TOTTI IS BREAKING GOAL SCORING RECORDS, YOU THINK HE WILL ALLOW A STRIKER TO COME INTO ROMA AND SCORE “HIS GOALS”

you guys might think that this is anti-totti but its not. im one of his biggest fans but its true.

TOTTI BREAKING RECORDS = NO NEW STRIKER

The spam monster has gone a bit crazy recently, gobbling up quite a few people (mobiles or no) while leaving no trace. Apologies for that.

Inter got a good player in Sneijder. I would of loved to have him at Roma. Could of given up Baptista and Pizzaro and gotten him or Van der Vaart. Why didnt management consider that. Sneijder and DDR midfield would of been amazing. Too much sittin on their hands and not willing to take risks.

Juan and Vucinic are back. Great news. Spalletti is going to play his full starting xi today. Maybe he should rest DDR, hes not been himself

John couldn’t possibly have worse instincts than Cassetti. Now Riise will finally be playing his natural position too, right?

Hopes Spal plays 4-4-2, I mean if he still plays 4-2-3-1 he’s just a stubborn bastard.

You fixed it! Awesome. Hey, so any thoughts on a Baptista move? I worry about depth letting him go, even though his skill set isn’t a good match for this team. If he plays all lead-footed again this year his value will continue to fall…

I’d really like to see the attacking line of:

    Cerci, Menez, Guberti
    ——-Totti——–

It might not work as those 3 are young guys lacking the same level of discipline, but I’d be extremely happy if we built our team around them. The talent/potential is there.
