What a crappy day in football. Breakfast in front of an Inter win (to the hands of Livorno, di piu !) Followed by an afternoon with DP and ADP. Awful, just plain woeful!I’d especially like to thank Pavel Nedved for living up to his ex Lazio player reputation.
I’m sorry, but this review won’t be rational because I’m doing it at light speed and am completely pissed at the moment. There are so many things i’d like to say to Spalletti right about now. So i decided to write him a nice little letter…

An open letter to Spalletti ;
Luciano ! You botched the starting formation and subsequent subs. This loss is your fault. To take a goal like we did, is understandable, Del Piero just stroke the ball extremely well. Doni got to it, but couldn’t steer it clear of goal. Not to mention, the dubiousness of the foul that gave way to the free kick in the 1st place. I don’t want to blame the referee for anything in this game, I think the calls were fair on each side today. But I do want to blame you! I’m not calling for your head, I’m a big fan of your work but you read the game with the same talent David Pizarro does! (contrary to what you think, it’s not a compliment) I understand you had no strikers on the bench but still, what the hell?
Here are a couple of things you need to work on;
The starting line- up should have looked like this
Doni,
Cicinho/OMR, Ferrari, Mexes, Tonetto
De Rossi, Aquilani
Cassetti, Giuly, Mancini
Totti
You can even try out Aquilani as a trequartista if you can’t imagine Pocket Pizarro out of the line up. Aquilani needs to be there from the start or at least right after half time.
If Roma’s playing like shit; SCREAM, You bald bastard! Please learn how to fire up your squad. We’ve spoke about this before; get ejected, do something crazy!
When Perrotta’s playing like that, PUT IN GIULY! It’s simple, just call to the shortest Frenchman on the bench, crouch down, ass slap him and then send him in.
When you saw Taddei play like crap why didn’t you do anything!? Here’s a solution
Push up Cassetti and bring in Cicinho. I know Cicinho can be a defensive liability but he’s also an offensive weapon. When we need a goal, we need Cicinho, remember the AC Milan game? When Dani Alves says you’re a better player than he is, it means you’re good fuckin’ awesome! You don’t leave 10M$ on the pine!
You need to work on an alternate formation for when shit hits the fan. 4-4-2, 3-5-2, hell a 5-5-0 if it helps, but spice things up !
Don’t get me wrong, no one is calling for your head but you screwed up big time Spal. We here, at the Roma offside, have decided to officially strip you of the TGIP title; you have now been demoted to Imperial poobah ‘til further notice! And that further notice better come on Tuesday!

Agreed - this match is all about Spaletti. If Pizzaro is in the starting 11, then he needs to go this summer. If KA DDR and Ciciho are in the starting 11, then there is hope. BTW, anyone else think this OMR KA thing is all hype? Also, if our Giallorossi loose tomorrow, then it’s time to turn attention to 08-09, sad to say.

dont get me wrong, spal has done amazing things for this team, given the chaos before he took over, but when the shit is hitting the fan i want to see some emotion from the man, get on the touchline and scream or something, look at mazzarri, during the samp-genoa game, he barely sat down and was always instructing players, whereas spal just sits and looks at the ground, fixes his scarf etc. regardless of whether the team is playing well or not

On radio they said that Panucci was talking to Mexes about getting another tattoo (they both are addicted) and Aquilani was stretching nearby and told Panucci to get a tattoo of him sitting on the bench in Torino.
It took 3 players to pull Panucci of Aquilani.
That’s very disrespectful of Albe’, and he should know how much Panucci has accmplished in his caeer. He broke into the greatest ever Milan side as a kid and he played left back!
Now, this may be all rubbish but that is what they said.

I think what’s going on is a proud man who fancies himself like a Maldini or Billy Costacourta, an ageless wonder who defies the universal. Panucci still feels he is the best right back in the league and cannot accept he is not at the height of powers any longer. If he keeps it up he will be playing for Genoa or Atalanta next season.

Maybe OMR is a primadonna, but he’s a vet on the bench, and if Spaletti doesn’t realize he needs to provide some extra coddling to help cool Panucci’s ego - at least to the point where he can laugh off the KA - then we’re back to coaching problems again.

i still have a little hope for the championship as well.
in my opinion old friend cassano (who had a HELL of a game) and sampdoria will beat inter on sunday and we will beat fiorentina, which cuts the lead to 8. then wednesday we play against inter, if and i say if we beat them, the lead is only 5 points ladies and gentlemen. i know its wishful thinking but it isnt impossible.
if this were to happen then we would be 5 points back with 13 games to go, there is still hope guys.
now getting more realistic, i think tomorrow that if pizzarro, perrotta and cassetti play we are screwed!! if its:
pannucci or cicinho juan mexes tonnetto
aquilani de rossi
taddei giuly mancini
tottithen i think we will come out on top tomorrow. im dreaming of a roma-inter quarterfinal (if allowed by uefa for 2 italian teams to play in the quarterfinal, which i think it is)

we have plenty to look forward to, step one and the biggest step of all is tomorrow night.

last message for tonight.
im going to give the sports report from week 36, well ahead of its time, a few months ahead. i just looked into my crystal ball.
roma was 2 points behind inter before the 36th week of the season. the matches were milan inter and sampdoria roma
milan beat inter by a score of 3-1
while roma beat sampdoria 0-3, antonio cassano was sent off in the 10th minute with a red card for a harsh foul.
roma is now up on inter by 1 point with 2 games to go. inter representatives and fans say that cassano purposely committed the harsh foul to leave his team with 10 players so roma could win the championship. cassano wins favour with roma and looks likely to return to roma next year. bruno conti replys to inters complaining by saying that “they ran out of gas………….it is expensive these days”

I like to sometimes compare Roma to Valencia as a team who is here to defy the big money spenders of its respective league with talented players.I also like to compare us to Arsenal, financially speaking. Some years ago they had real financial problems but look at them today, they became healthy thx to their great form in the last years (and thx to Wenger no doubt).
I hope that we’ll soon achieve what they did and be recognized, without any doubts, as a Big European club.
