GHD R2: Sergio ‘Hot As Balls’ Ramos v Freddie Ljunberg

By: chris | July 16th, 2007

5. Sergio ‘Hot As Balls’ Ramos CB Real Madrid

v

4. Freddie Ljunberg RW Arsenal (Maybe)

Ramos:

My favorite comment so far, narrowly beating out Mike’s Cutting Edge reference, from Ashley: He’s hot, just not like balls. Exactly.

Sergio’s fairly athletic for a defender, huh.

Ljunberg:

Unfortunately, as reported last week, there aren’t many photos floating around of the Freddiehawk. Just a classic turn of the century ‘do, but Calvin Klein made him shave it off, sadly.

I’m still refusing to put a shaved head CK ad up here, that’s cheating. This one should be real interesting, two pretty boys duking it out. I’m sure the female demographic is torn.

Bloody hell! These two should be meeting in the final, not the second round. Sigh. Goodbye, Mr. Hot As Balls.

(Also: Mike made a Cutting Edge reference? Just when I thought I couldn’t love him more … )

Remember this is a hair contest not a “Who would the majority of females like to wake up nude next to” contest.

I told you I can’t vote just on hair! Call it a character flaw.

Sergio may be hot as balls, but Freddie is far more spectacular. He dyed it different colors depending on what team (Arsenal or Sweden) he was playing for! Now that is awesome hair.

I’m sure the female demographic is torn. And I’m sure you’re upset about that, Chris.

I’m very disappointed that you missed the fabulous Sergio hairband pics. Serg does so much more than just wear his hair long. After all, he’s had Becks to teach him.

*sigh* I’ll have to flip a coin here. Or use Martha’s approach.

I would strongly advise against using Martha’s approach for anything regarding this contest. She once voted for a rat tail.

I though I had put up a headband pic, my bad.

Okay so in honor of winning favorite comment can I request a Freddie CK pic. The ones you have are just unfair. I cannot bring myself to vote for him with that hippie carpet on his head. So please, treat us with a pretty, pretty picture.

Ashley, to even get to see another pic of that hippie carpet, nevermind sexy CK photos, you’re going to have to pool your friends and make a Major-League-Baseball-All-Star-voting-like assault on the polls. He’s loooooooosin.

(For anyone who didn’t get that MLB reference, it’s notorious for like 50,000 voters to all of a sudden vote for the star of the team whose stadium is holding the All-Star game the night before the voting closes just to get him into the starting lineup/team. And by “voters” I mean MLB officials make up the voting totals to appease sponsors/marketing/crowd, which means I can be bought)

Chris if I’ve said it once, I’ve said it a thousand times: It’s not the rat tail that matters, what matters is whose wearing the rat tail. Man. Can’t imagine why that expression never swept the globe.

(And I’m with Ady, you’re sell Serge short without the hairbands.)

You know what? I don’t give a fuck about the hairbands.

If he wins, he’ll get some next round. Until then, deal with it.

(Sorry if I’m a bit touchy, I just hit page 68 of Totti on google images looking for one specific picture. I’m a tad edgy with the GHD right now)

To defend Martha (not that she needs any help), if this was a hair debate with WAGS instead of footballers, I’m SO sure you guys would be judging from just the neck up, right?? Uh-huh… right.

I will vote for Ljungberg. He is much cooler than Ramos. I hope you will have Valderrama in this contest. Women will vote for him for sure if you show the picture with him and Michel.

OK Chris. Breathe. If you need hairband pics of Serg for the next round, I will email you a whole bunch. And a few Mexes as well. Totti I don’t have nearly as many pics of. And if you ever needed Maldini pictures… Well, let’s just not go there. *face in hands*

Thanks for the offer, but I’ve seen more than a few on google images. I should be ok.

And believe me, nearly half my hard drive is Totti pictures at this point, because I think it’s fair to say he should make the final.

Chris, you wouldn’t be rigging this thing, now would you? If you are, here are a couple of women-vote friendly tips:

    a) Nix the thumb sucking pics. Many women already have babies at home of either the small or large variety - they are not interested in perving over voting for one.

    b) Totti has a really nice shoulder to waist ratio, so topless pics frame his hair to nice advantage. And make some of us almost forget the whole thumb sucking weirdness.

And what happened to Mexes? Was he eliminated in a previous round? Cuz I’d vote for his…um…hair.

Then my Totti post for tomorrow (already written and pictures posted) will appease you greatly. But you have to remember, the majority of my readers are likely male, so I don’t want to turn off my majority demographic whilst turning on the minority (pun completely intended).

Mexes dominated David James in the second round. He’ll be going up against Edgar Davids in the quarter finals. To go back and ogle all his pics click on ‘Hair Debate’ under Categories on the right hand side.

Ah, well then I look forward to your post and hope that it will have been worth your getting testy over.

However, it would be interesting to see whether your regular demographic and the people who vote on boy hair posts are the same. I think this may be a bit like Martha’s WAG posts. Although most of her demographic is probably male as well. *ponders* *drums fingers on desk* Sooooo… If I wasn’t already married, this would be a good place to meet guys, huh? (I like to always think the glass is half full!)

Well I’m glad to hear that another Romanista (is that correct?) is faring well too. And a most desrving one. If it comes down to the two of them, in my book, Il Capitano loses. I’ll go check out the pics you’ve selected…

OK. Checked out the Mexes. If you need more pics for him, I have a lethal one. Of his hair, of course.

And I hate to point this out, but your demographic may be mostly male, but the commenters on these posts are split pretty evenly.

Yeah, Mexes is Romanista at this point. I can only imagine the laudatory praise that the tifosi will heap on him next year for signing a contract under the cap after what Chivu pulled.

The Mexes quarter final match-up is on Wednesday and I’ll email you so you can send me the lethal one. Cool?

As far as demographics go, I’m not really sure how it’s split up. But there’s a lot of zany in both genders and I like it. My comment threads are always long and ridiculous.

That’s fine. Just use andolinn at gmail dot com rather than the one I use for comments… It’ll work a whole lot better. And yeah - alias!

And zany is good. People get online to play so, while some discussions can be serious, it’s nice to intersperse some light hearted ones as well. The Hair Wars seems to bring that out.

Next GHD you do, you should seed Di Canio as last, just to see him and his bald head get owned.
