Chivu: Roma A “Small Obstacle” To His Love For Inter
By: chris | September 25th, 2007
This was taken from an interview in Calcio Italia magazine which I so thievishly stole from someone over at Roma Addict (btw, thanks for the thread - much appreciated), and this piece of bullshit deserves its own post.
Dominique Antognoni: Why did you choose the Nerazzurri and not Real Madrid or Barcelona?
Chivu: I always wanted Inter and only Inter. I think that the way the negotiations went clearly shows that. For me, they were the only side that existed. It was my dream and you don’t mess with dreams. My love affair with them started in the summer of 2003, when I came so close to arriving in Milan. There was a small obstacle, but my heart already belonged to the Nerazzurri.
Apparently Chivu’s heart has belonged to Inter since 2003, and Roma was a “small obstacle” in fulfilling his true love. And Roma never existed? There was also a snippet regarding a “dream contract”. But it’s clear now: it wasn’t the Becali brothers pulling the strings, it was Chivu. Though the former may be embarrassments to human beings everywhere, Chivu has taken to another level. He’s shamed the shirt. He’s taken a great privilege and called it a stepping stone for his “dreams.” And he was in no way, shape or form “naive” during his negotiations.
While I’m certainly not shocked, his colors were glaring throughout the entire process, I’m nearly at a loss for words. It was quite evident he was a money grubbing whore, he was at least cordial and moderately eloquent in the press, always said all the right things, as untrue as they may have been. This is obviously saying the right things for Inter, but you still don’t say your heart was with one team while playing for another. Quite simply, that’s unprofessional, which seems to be a running theme with our ex-favorite Romanian here.
The tears? Celebrations? Please. Give me a break. He may have given his body to the shirt, but he never gave his heart, and that’s what matters. That’s what separates Roma from every other club in the world. When the players kiss that badge it actually means something, and it means more than anything he will ever do in Milan. I am ashamed he ever had the honor of wearing the shirt.
* - Fiorentina preview later today, and now Francesco is out. I swear, they better win by about 4 goals because this week has me steaming.

I am so happy he left. The embarrassment of Manchester has his signature all over it. Chivu-Juan is the greatest deal of the year!

I dont understand why he has to rub it in? Why does he talk about Roma in such manner?
I wonder if he is going to play against us and how. He has done enough damage with this comment and I just hope none of our players will get injured by him. That would make him dead man walking.Posted from

I don’t think Chivu’s the one who should be rubbing it, so I have no worries there.

I am happy that he has left, he was especially great in the air [/sarcasm]. He’s moved on, he doesnt have to belittle Roma.

Let him talk. Chivu’s in Milano now and the media is there to lap up up whatever bullshit he spews. Too bad, he has no idea how to manage it.
Once Inter gets used to his being injured for half of their games and barely showing up for international competitions (has everyone forgotten his performance in the Man U. Game), Prade and Roma will look even more brilliant for having jettisoned an overpriced, over-hyped, part-time defender.
They don’t even need him for dead ball situation b/c Ibra and stank are better than he is.
We made out on top in this deal. Basta. PUNTO.
It’s time let go of any animosity we feel for him. He ain’t our problem anymore.
How many times in the last dozen years can remember us taking money from the Northern giants while improving our squad?NEVER.
These articles are reason to laugh at him and Milan.
Furthermore, In questa vita si dividono i personi ai furbi e i fessi.
E lui non e furbo. E piu, non e nostra problema mai piu.Posted from

Mancio blows off steam….
Mancini sul romeno non vuole sentire storie: lo vuole disponibile per la partita con la Roma: “Chivu con un po’
di dolore e sofferenza dovrebbe essere a disposizione per sabato. Anzi, ce la deve fare. Veda lui come. E anche per martedì (in Champions col Psv, ndr)”.
Trans: Mancini says Chivu better be on the field for Saturday’s game at L’Olimpico.sounds like Moratti has been seriously chewing Mancio ass off.

I don’t think he meant Roma is the small obstacle. I think the small obstacle prevented him from joining Inter so he went to Roma instead as a temporary fix.. and then jumped ship at the first sight of money.

Wait, who’s this guy? I can’t remember him. Was he on Roma once? That must have been before our back lined kicked-ass, like it does this year.
Fucker.

Wow… Just wow. That’s wrong in so many ways i can’t even begin to count! Well you know what, good riddens Chivu. Instead of bitching at him though, i’d like to thank him for leaving, as his value translated into Cici and Juan - i’m duly satisfied! And on top of this, he added more fuel to the Roma-Inter game on sunday. Imagine how our Captain feels about these comments as well as TGIP… too bad Chivu most likely will be out for sundays game. It’dd be a cracker to see our wingers and Totti running circles around Chivu!

Don’t forget Andreolli. He’s not playing now, but kid’s got an assload of potential. Either that or Roma picks up about another 3-4m from Inter for him.

It’s good he’s gone! He never had “Roma” in his heart, JUST HIS WALLET! He will forever be branded a “Traitor” and I hope he has no success. For him to say those things about Roma is just unacceptable, considering WE made him. Without us he would still be stuck in the Dutch league dreaming about “Playing for this Roma Team”. Anyway, I need to stop before this gets me too hot. On a final note “Good Riddance” I hope many strikers from other clubs get to “INTER” your ass on several occassions. FORZA ROMA!!!!!!!!!!!!

You are so stupid! How can you believe he really said those things. He just isn’t like that. He might have said something like Inter had always been my dream team. but he would never talk bad about Roma, he loved playing there. And I honestly believe his heart was with Roma aswell. He is a nice guy, shame he left, but I wish him the best.
