A Gift For The Chivu Haters….
By: chris | September 6th, 2007I came along this little masterpiece while searching for something completely unrelated to Mrs. Chivu, but it’s so breathtaking in all its splendor I figured it deserves its own canvas, or post.

hey…nice pic that one….btw wat i think Roma needs is a player who not necessarily is high on skill but who does his job. A player who does the role assigned to him and carries it out with minimum fuss. I think all teams who do well have that kind of a player..Liverpool hv Arbeloa who is not gr8 on skill but can play anywhere n has high levels of concentration. Similarly ManU hv Fletcher who again is not very skillful but does well in watever role given to him. We need tht kind of a player who works hard on the pitch and gives nothing away.

Harish, what about: De Rossi, Aquliani e Taddei Roma has already the future in the house.

De Rossi and Aquilani dont come in that category…cuz i hv seen them regularly lose their concentration and they sometimes simply switch off…but as far as Taddei goes…i think he is the kind of a player who works his socks out on the pitch…and he is also high on skill..no wonder we badly missed him and perrotta at old trafford.

Nice post today Chris. I wonder if at the time – when Chivu was desperately defending with every last bit of energy in him, man-marking Fred out of the game (and on that corner) and preventing him from scoring, and stopping Lyon getting back into the game – where you calling him a jackass? I would say probably not, eh. Of course, I may take the simplistic approach and say that he was never tied to Roma like say, DDR or AA, and that in the end, it came down to money, and essentially, in todays player-wages dominated world of modern football, Chivu, as the world-class defender that he is, wanted to be paid as such, and it was abuntantly clear that he wasn’t getting it at Roma under any circumstances, and so we all moved on. Thats it. He gave his all everytime he put on that giallorossi jersey, and up until the end, acted like a pure professional in his time here. What bugs me most is how easily people forget that Totti was threatening to leave back in 2001 until he signed his mega €5.8m-a-year (or whatever it was) deal, thereby smashing the ’salary-cap’ which is still in effect and which caused the problems with Chivu to begin with, or how DDR will smash this ’salary-cap’ next year, or how AA will smash the ’salary-cap’ in time, when he is a global megastar. I don’t hate Chivu and I hold nothing against him. I’m sorry he left, and I’m sorry he joined Intermerda, but this is football.
But yes, its a great picture alright. Very meticulous. And boy does it look sore. When I look at it, however, I don’t look at it with malicious pleasure, but rather I think of that dirty cnut Fred, and off how Chivu put his nose and jaw on the line in order to help bring us to the quarter-finals of the Champions League.

Who’s this Chivu guy?!

I hope Chivu will reciprocate for you at a later date, Shield.
Christ almighty, I was referring to his statements. Back up the hate truck.

Oh, and you’re making a lot of very simplistic assumptions regarding what transpired between the club and Chivu. The salary cap wasn’t the problem. Victor Becali has gone over that ad nauseum.

I think Aleandro Rosi did the dirty job for us, playing at LB,RB,RW,LW, Now its Matteo Brighi’s turn I suppose

Totti did not break any salary cap! At the time he’s got the raise Roma did not have a salary cap. They came up with it few years after. Batistuta made well over today’s salary cap, and Montella is probably still above it. Roma’s salary cap is something newer (4-5 years tops). Am I right here?!

Hehe Romashield… you seem a tad bitter. Get out on the wrong side of bed this morning? Ofcourse none of us were calling Chivu a jackass when he was playing for us. That’s not the issue. The issue is the way he handled himself and the club in the media. Crying out his love for the club and then pulling the kind of stuff he did, justifies the word JACKASS in my book!

what a cunt that chivu is.

I think what made Roma fans like us hate Chivu is because he’s inconsistency talking to the media. I mean he said to everyone I love Roma, then the next minute I’m outta here! That kind of guy don’t deserve respect!
