I agree Bren. MLS aint the best but its young. I have to say that they are progressing very quickly but i doubt they will dominate the “world game” at least in my time.
Puerto Rico Islanders from the USL1 keeps me a little distracted but not enough. I NEED MY ROMA FIX.

I sure think that the US should have a relegation and promotion system. THey also need to follow the traditional league table and get rid of that bullshit playoff.

Well I dont think they can rival the euro leagues anytime soon, might take 50 years or so..ha but hey, who wouldve ever thought the US would lose at basketball? So you never know.
I do, however, think the US will win a world cup sooner rather than later…obviously not in 2010, but i can see it happening.

If European basketball leagues can attract NBA players, the MLS could attract top football players…
The question is, would MLS teams have or be willing to spend the big money consistently.
Money makes the world spin.

US actually won at bball…

Asem, hes probably talking about WBC’s..They did lose
Thats why the olympic team was named the Redeem Team

And not in 2004. What a fackin’ disgrace.
MLS is painful to watch, but it’s growing at least. Serie A didn’t happen in 12 years.

All I know is Duke Basketball is great and Coach K is the greatest basketball mind on the planet haha. I’m not biased at all…

I know asem, i was referring to 2004 Olympics and the 06 world championships.
they cant just start splashing cash around like Man City, b/c that failed miserably in the 70s with NASL bringing in Pele, Beckenbauer etc with a lot of money, then the league folded b/c there was no real structure or fan base underneath once those guys retired…so in that respect, the MLS is doing a great job at slow, steadly and lasting growth….anyway onto Roma news…
Whats the figures of this Aquilani extension, is it the 2.5 he wanted?

No spec. figures yet, I don’t think…
His agent just said they were close to signing.
Hopefully it actually happens…Posted from

Yeah lets hope they lock him up… I still cant get over whats going on at Man City, check out this “shopping list” for Man City.
http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/05092008/58/premier-league-manchester-city-s-shopping-list.htmlThats just insane, i guess when youre worth that much money it wouldnt matter spending all of that on transfer fees alone. I mean, how in the world could they ever turn a profit on those fees!?
Its gonna get crazy in january, one could imagine Citys spending is going to set the market for all teams all over the continent.

MY LORD. LIONEL MESSI??? Im sorry but from what i heard Lio wants to play in Argentina after he leaves Barca. Can money change that? (of course it can) Barca would be dumbasses to let that talent go just beacuse Man City got a new piggy bank.

I missed all the talk…….what Aquilani? Manchester Pity, Pele, Insane salaries?….can we say, hummm, the destruction of modern football as we know it?

EPL is seriously a joke.

EPL= No Tradition.

Thats why they need an Italian coach so that the National team doesnt suck as much ass.

The EPL is a facade! Its hard to dispute the fact that the EPL is an ‘apparent’ good. Its superfical, with no substance. It looks good to an outsider or a newcomer to the sport because of the numerous money-hungry star$ that play in it, the hype, and the headlines….But to some of us who know better, yes Kistajk, its a joke!

By the way, com’on now, what are the chances that Aquilani won’t sign with ROMA? Say, 00.1%

Amen Romason. I swear, I thank God i had a father that tought me what Calcio is realy about.
He never forced Roma down my throat but he use to say. “If you are ever to love a club, make sure its not cause everyone else loves them. Trophies come and go, but a unique team never dies” RIP

Are you serious, he said that?

But on a serious note, what are the chances that that Dr. Fahim or something like that, will be able to sign half of those superstars? I doubt Messi and Fabregas….

Yep, He was a die hard Roma fan. He was in Rome for the CL Final against Liverpool. A day he wanted to forget.
I just saw Fox Soccer Report and they showed an interview with him. He says that the figures are kinda blown out of proportion.
He plans on getting 4 quality players in January. Hes willing to spend whatever it takes but he claims he wont spend CRAZY money. I think he already has with Robinho, so i dont know what the fuck he is smoking.
