Vucinic and Bojinov were very good together at Lecce, then Bojinov left and Vucinic continued to play well. Mirko is one of the most underrated players in today’s game, a real gem.

Danie’ I rate Pazzini, make no mistake. If we are getting 2 STs, I don’t mind him being the 2nd one. More and more I think Mirko will primarily be on the left next season.

I don’t see him leaving firenze unless he requests a transfer, and even then I don’t know if they will grant it. They are in Champions, they are flogging Osvaldo; Vieri’s carcass has been dumped off the ponte vecchio and sunk to the bottom of the Arno; Waigo is off, Lupoli is not ready. They will have Gila, Pazz, Mutu and seemingly Tavano as their 4 STs from what I understand. And they are going 4231 too.

    I wouldn’t take Pazzini either…

he is not the man that can make the difference for our team.

Iaquinta would be perfect, he is everything we need, and in second would be Borriello.

but what i think we need is that selfish, insanely talented player that can play out wide and add some spice to our midfield, kinda liek what Mancini used to do… Hatem Ben Arfa might be that man…

Amantino Mancini for Youri Gorceuff & Marco Boriello + Cash is a better deal.

I would love pazzini more then iaquinta.. What about this Guiza guy from mallorca?

I like this rumour of cash plus Mancini for Ben Arfa. He looks like hes going to be a fantastic player.

It’s too good to be true. A young player with that kind of potential and raw dribbling ability for the laziest asshole to ever put on a roma jersey, yes pelase. I won’t hold my breath though.

Chris, I think if this year’s ben arfa were turned down by Wenger last year it would be a huge red flag. Wenger is feeling the pressure this year though, and he doesn’t have time to groom players I fear.

Well, it would be Mancini plus cash, so not just a straight swap. Plus Ben Arfa is very unsettled at Lyon and is moving almost for sure this summer, they have already got Pranjic as replacement.

Liverani leaves la Viola. He was linked with us earlier. Maybe we’ll hear that link again… and I for one hope not. Palermo seems to be his likely destination.

I think we will soon know if Soros takes over. In the meantime, here are my Sensi/Soros mercato wishes:

    Sensi:

Exchange Mancini for Borriello+Gourcuff (or how ever the hell you spell his name)

    Sell Giuly & Esposito

Buy Vucinic’s other 1/2, Rosina, Matthieu, a backup keeper and Canini (if Ferrari goes):

    ————-Doni————
    (backup)

    Cicinho–Mexes–Juan–Matthieu
    (Cassetti)(Panucci)(Canini)(Tonetto)

    ——–DDR—–Aquilani——
    (Perrotta) (Pizzaro)

    –Rosina—Perrotta—Vucinic–
    (Taddei) (Gourcuff) (Cerci)

    ————-Totti————
    (Borriello)

Thats not bad and should be affordable.

    OR

    ————Doni————

    Cicinho–Mexes–Juan–Matthieu
    (Cassetti)(Panucci)(Canini)(Tonetto)

    —-DDR–Aquilani–Perrotta—-
    (Taddei)(Pizzaro)(Brighi)

    ————-Rosina————-
    (Gourcuff)

    ——Totti——-Borriello—–
    (Vucinic) (Vucinic)

    Not bad either.

I won’t go into my wholse Soros lineup but I will keep my dreams of Vargas, Amauri and maybe substitute Gourcuff for Diego (or course keep Rosina and Matthieu too).

Chris, when you have a chance, please explain your rationale for not wanting Soros. I have a pretty good idea of some of the reasons but I’d like to hear you express them yourself so I can either debate it with you or perhaps see it in a new light. Thanks.

What happened to Barusso? I thought he always looked promising but I just noticed tonight when I used Roma he’d been removed from the game in the last update

He is loaned out to Galatasaray.

I don’t care for this takeover anymore. If it happens it happens if not it don’t. Don’t care for the summer emrcato also, my focus is now on the Euro 2008. Italia!!!

I’d be quite happy if we would land Matthieu or Vargas, the other half of Vuci, someone to take over Ferrari’s spot if he walks,a decent midfielder and un attacante di peso. Also something in return for Mancini: At this point I’d settle for anyone with a background of injuries :-) . And return some of the youth out on loan. With the budget being what it be let’s build on what has been built up to now. After all, Roma was not built in one day.

Here’s Eurosport’s Euro team for the past season: http://eurosport.yahoo.com/27052008/58/champions-league-european-team-season.htmlteam
    Julio Cesar, Bosingwa,Evra,Cuellar(Rangers),Ferdinand,DDR, Messi,prettyboy CRonaldo,Torres, Toni, Ribery.
The bench:James (Portsmouth, Terry,Senna(Villareal),Del Piero(Rubentus), Benzema. Manager: Sir ScotchFace.
    Oh, well…..

seems that it’s now certain that Soros will not buy AS Roma :

    http://www.ilromanista.it/?section=news&id=12422

I wonder who had an interest in keeping this endless take-over soap going with fabricated stories (selling more newspapers, radiostations…) ? Because if Soros is not interested now, why would he have been seriously interested a month ago ?

The interest was definitely real. If Soros really has decided to withdraw it is likely in reaction to the entire soap opera surrounding the negotiations (keep in mind that he hates publicity about his business operations), especially the phantom offer of 400 million from the non-existent Arab consortium that was used to try to get him to increase the price last week.

Nonetheless, as Il Romanista points out, the Sensis still need to come up with more than 100 million euro by the end of September (and get both Italpetroli’s accounts certified by the auditors and its next restructuring plan agreed) if they want to retain control of Italpetroli.

And it has always been difficult to see where that money is coming from other than from the sale of all or part of the football club.

BTW, the stock opened down 11.5 percent this morning (after a period when no trades were made at all because the difference between the bid and asked was too great), though it has recovered a bit (currently down 8.5%); the market now seems to believe that no sale is imminent.

I dont know if you can say the Soros deal is off for sure even with the media saying it may be, look over the past few months. The deal has been on and off again. Just have to wait and see what happens
