Ooh, Ooh She’s A Lady

By: chris | March 13th, 2008

uefachampionsleaguetrophy3small.jpg(Gorgeous, ain’t she.)

And the fate will arrive from Nyon, Switzerland at 1:00p local time (8a EST US). This one’s simple, and there will be a whole lot of wishin’, hopin’ and dreamin’ beforehand, but the discussion is moot until the draw actually happens.

The Suspects:

Fenerbahce
Schalke
Arsenal
Liverpool
Chelsea
ManYoo
Barca

(Yes, that’s my order of preference.)

It’ll be one of those seven, and that’s that.

And it’s time to replace this…….

(Stop about :30 from the end.)

………..with a little more of this.

For pre-post draw discussion and useless banter, rumor has it this is the place.

I know!!! We can’t get a good draw to save our lives.. Man Utd, Real Madrid, Man Utd, Barcelona.. So to get to the final we have to beat the 2 teams I wanted to face the least..

    Well done Barca.

And now, for another month, we’ll be seeing the scoreline everywhere again and again.

    When’re the matches?

I don’t want to talk about revenge.. That’s just wrong because there’s no way we can avenge a 6 goal loss.. I want to think of it as redemption.. The team has a chance (in the exact same stage) to make up for last year’s humiliation by actually getting a respectable result.

“Pick the bones out of that then. Arsenal meet Liverpool in the only English tie. Manchester United might not be too disappointed about facing Roma having thrashed them 7-1 last season. And if Chelsea beat Fenerbahce, we are guaranteed an English finalist.”

    Quite some journalism :-/

We have grown a lot and that result last year was a fluke, a one time. We can overcome MU, we already played them and have a good knowledge of them… this is important. Also we need to have solid results in Serie A so confidence and focus are in place. If we maintain our form it is not going to be a walk in a park for MU

Anybody see the article at goal.com. Keown question Totti ability, I don’t even know who Keown is. It’s stupid because he basically questioning every great player who hasn’t played in England.

Plus, I hope they underestimate them.. Because last year we were poor, and at the beginning of this year we couldn’t hit the side of a barn.. It all depends on Juan and Mexes to soak up the pressure.. God knows what we’ll do about Cristiano Ronaldo though.

Cristiano Ronaldo will have one DDR to contend with.

AS LONG AS HE DOES NOT GET BOOKED IN ROME!!

    That would be a disaster

Let me be all lunatic on this draw and say … we beat MU for last year and Liverpool in the final for 84 …

By the way I think Fenerbahce can succeed against Chelsea, I really do.

If we’re going to be part European elite, let alone win the CL, we need to be ok to play anyone in the quarter finals. We need to be the team other hope NOT to play.

Playing Febernache or Shalke would have been a hard game. Revenge, new found self belief, and Roma’s ability to raise it’s game for big games makes me feel that Man U is the right team to play.

And if we beat Man U after Real, nobody’s going to want to play us.

I say bring on whoever, and let go about whooping their ass.
